awful experience finally left because i would not want to start with a doctor like thiswish i had read the other reviews

He seems to know his stuff and is professional. However, there is a gruffness to him, and he does not explain what is happening. Sort of an arrogance. I never felt comfortable with him.

This is in response to my review of November 6th, 2023 (Great Office!). I meant to click on five stars, not one, hopefully this will elevate Dr. Shusterman's review. I apologize for the inconvenience.

TERRIBLE OFFICE! I cannot begin to explain how unprofessional the individuals in this establishment are. I booked an appointment for my dad as a new SELFPAY patient. They ask you to come in a few minutes earlier to fill out paperwork which we did. It took them over an HOUR to see us with no explanation whatsoever. Then one of the receptionists gets us from the waiting room and walks us into a small office... not even an operatory. Dr. Shusterman was sitting behind the desk when we walked in and took a seat. He failed to even acknowledge that we were there until he was completely done with whatever it was that he was typing on the computer, which was quite frankly RUDE. We began explaining the issue to the doctor and he spent the whole time talking about how he should've never gotten a previous procedure my dad had previously and trashing the establishment he had it done at. Not once did he address the issue or provide any solutions.

They schedule me for a procedure, nothing was done for me. They did not follow through never saw the doctor only a PA that schedule the procedure without any MRI ir Cat scan. Do not recommend

You will never see this Doctor. Staff does not care, return calls, or schedule important surgeries. Everyone is surly, uncaring and they absolutely are double, if not triple billing insurance illegally for services far reaching what they perform. Do NOT GO HERE!!!

I needed help with prior authorization for my meds. The person responsible would not even take my phone calls. This went on for months while I'm suffering without medication. I'm now looking for a new urology practice.

This MD failed to diagnose my bladder cancer during a cystoscopy. Did NO biopsy. Later I found cancer spread to prostate. I found a wonderful surgeon at a top hospital on my own and Shusterman stated he was better than that surgeon! I’m lucky to be alive. He is more interested in profit than people. Shusterman later recommended Gaines Wave treatments done at his office -(nearly $6K out of pocket; not insurance covered) to regain sexual function. I was told by my oncologist and both my surgeons that I wasted my money as it is useless for radical cystectomy and prostatectomy. When I complained, he said I was trying to shake him down. Unprofessional and not knowledgeable, at best. Find another doctor.

As a patient myself and my pharmacy always have difficulty getting in touch with the Dr for a refill, which in turn always leaves me at least a week or longer without my medication. I recommend finding another DR

Dr. Shusterman is without question a TOP Urologist, with a staff that is highly professional. If you are looking for a urologist (and there are a lot of them in NYC), I am absolutely certain that you don't need to look further. And to prove this, his waiting room is always FILLED - with wait times on or close to the scheduled appointment.

found dr shusterman online. saw him in his office in nyc. spent time explaining and was very pleasant. highly recommend!

After visiting his office for approximately 8 months I saw him two times. Once for the initial visit & a second time when he scoped my bladder. After that I was strictly handled by his physicians assistant. Treated for kidney stones using Lithrotripsy - 8 times. Found out later by a NEW urologist that this was an outrageous treatment & that this procedure should be done no more than 3 times. Performing procedures in order to file health insurance claims is more important than patient care.

Dr Shusterman is one of the best doctors in Manhattan. I found him on Aetna website as he had 5/5 star reviews there!! I completely agree.. he was able to check me out with ultrasound blood and urine testing all on one visit! I have never been checked out this well and fast before!! I was able to walk out of the office with most of the results and a treatment plan that was based on real information and not just the hunch of the doctor .. I was very impressed and definitely recommend him to every
