Dr. David Stein, MD

I’ve been going to Dr. Stein for over 20 years. He’s always got his eye on my overall history and health while managing my immediate needs. He’s smart and thoughtful. He’s taken great care of me over the years. The staff here are very pleasant and professional. They do their best to help squeeze me in or get messages to the doctor and nurse with responses within 24 hours. I’ll be a patient at this office as long as I’m here. Occasionally I have to see a partner and they’ve all been great, especially Dr. Morgan. I’m extremely happy with Dr. Stein and the whole practice.

I used to be a patient of Dr. David Stein's until December 2024. My care was terminated without warning and the excuse given was failure to establish a provider patient relationship. How can this be true when I had been a patient for 10 years. I got labs, referrals, letters from him and his office. I believe my dismissal was retaliation because of wrongful behavior towards my partner. The termination came in a letter unsigned by The Physicians of Commonwealth Primary Care. I never did anything to cause this behavior towards me. What did I do so bad to be treated this way? Now, I am scrambling to find care. Dr. Stein is not the honorable person I thought he was. Stay away from this practice.

I Have been a patient of Dr, Stein's since he has ben in practice. He has always been very thorough. He listens to me and makes the necessary recommendations when necessary. If he was not available when medical attention needed, I was set up with another physician in the group. Excellent care from Dr. Stein.

Was a patient at this practice from adolescence well into my 30s before deciding to move on after a particularly disheartening experience during my pregnancy. When cooperation between Dr. Stein and my OBGYN was required, I experienced what can only be described as egregiously poor and unintentional customer service caused by the doctor himself. Not sure if what I experienced was the haphazard care so commonly shown to African-American women or a more generalized ambivalence to patients and patient care. Andrew Shiflett, a PA at Commonwealth Primary Care, is the one bright spot in the practice. Both myself and my husband found him to be attentive, patient, thorough and genuinely concerned with the care of his patients. Unfortunately, I need to be able to rely on high-quality care from both the PA and my PCP, so I am not able to recommend this practice and most specifically, this physician.

I have had two doctors in my life that I thought were superb, far beyond their contemporaries. Dr. Stein is one of those doctors. He really cares. He takes the time to learn about his patient and to tailor treatments accordingly. There is no way I would go to another doctor. I have now been his patient for 15 years.

These doctors are close to my office. I was scheduled with Dr. Stein. His nurse was pretty rude but I figured she was busy and all. The doctor rushed thru my medical history didn't really listen. I wouldn't recommend these doctors to anyone. Even the people at the front desk acted like I was bothering them. I went twice and it was the same thing both times.

His nurse screwed up my prescription and so I am going on a week without them. When I asked was basically told deal with it and we wont help. Not a good way to run a business and a dangerous way to run a doctors office.

I will not be returning to this practice! The staff is unprofessional and rude. I had lab work done and explained I had all of the Symptons and a family history of hypothyroidism- when it came back elevated Dr Stein suggested to take a "wait and see approach" He casually told me to have it tested again in a few months. After I had my blood work checked again several months later it was even higher than before! They also blast rock and roll music in their freezing cold waiting room

Made me feel uncomfortable.

Please do not waste your time going here. Dr. Stein is very unprofessional and I'm disturbed to have taken any medical advice from such a disgusting individual.
