This Dr. Is what is wrong with medicine e in our country. While he may be competent he certainly needs some improvement . During my initial visit he gave a quick diagnosis of my problem. Seemed as though any question I asked was a affront to his abilities. Offered no alternative procedures didn't discuss any side effects of the injections I received. I left feeling like a ATM to him just a outlet to get money outta another patient? M, I will be seeking another opinion and choosing a different ophthalmologist going forward.

After trying 3 other eye docs I'd rate Dr. D. as the best. His staff was friendly and efficient. His tech was also friendly and efficient. Dr. listened to me, asked the right questions, gave options. Couldn't ask for any better. I'm VERY happy with the appointment with this doctor!

5 Stars for saving my left eye. Negative 5 stars for giving me the runaround for the past 2 years about not being able to see me for my hemorrhaging right eye. Because of Dr. Switzer's churlish attitude I began seeing a different retinal specialist when my right eye started hemorrhaging. This Dr. said he did not do a good job, if he did laser it because it was hemorrhaging. I went back to Dr. Switzer to give him the opportunity to fix it and instead was met with obstinance and an attitude of "How dare I or anyone question the great Dr. Switzer" and he insisted that his lasering of my right eye was perfect and nothing more needed to be done and rudely referred me back to my other doctor. So back to my other doctor I went and began a series of injections to control the problem with surgery being a final option. Well my new specialist retired and in the meantime while my hospital was looking for a replacement, I needed another injection. I called Dr. Switzer's office only to be told

I have been going to Dr. Switzer for the last year with an unusual situation occurring in my right eye. I have felt that he is very careful and gives a great deal of consideration to the best approach for my eye. I dont think there is anyone I would reccomend above him. I also cannot figure out how anyone could have something negative to say about the desk staff. I have been treated exceptionally well always and I have observed only kind interaction with others.

Last summer Dr. Switzer performed emergency detached retina surgery on my eye. I believe he did high quality work on my retina, did excellent follow-up care, and he has remained very supportive when I see strange things and get scared. Yes, his bedside manner can be abrupt, but he has always answered my questons clearly. After all, I did not hire him for his charm, but because he's a good doctor.

Second visit- I am changing my star rating on this Dr from a 1 to a 3 since he called and apologized for how the first office visit went. He also scheduled me to see the other Dr in his office the next day to help DX my eye problem. The other Dr was even on vacation and came in for me! You can read about the first visit below which he apologized for. I trust this Dr to assess vision issues as long as he listens to you.

Very rude, would not listen, kept interrupting. Delayed surgery on a fast progressing case in which emergency surgery should have been performed.
