Dr. David Thio, MD

This man did not listen to a word I said. He put notes in my chart that were flat lies. He was unprepared for my appointment and unaware of my extensive medical conditions. He refused to fill medications that have been on and managing my conditions for years. He relied on labs from five years ago to make decisions about my care, ignoring the fact that my condition is entirely different than it was five years ago. He was argumentative and would not listen to me or to my husband, despite the fact that I have been dealing with a life threatening illness for many years, and am very knowledgeable about my condition and my own body. He was possibly the worst doctor I have ever seen, and given the state of my health I have seen a LOT. My wait time was so long that I was told to leave and come back in an hour, which I did, and still had to wait another half an hour. I was told by the receptionist that this is very common for him. I cannot stress enough how much this man should be avoided.

Dr. Thio has been my doctor for many years. He always takes the time to listen to me and discuss my medical problems. I always walk out of his office with a plan of action for my health.

I’m a warfarin patient with severe arthritis in my knees and back, a tumor on my ovary, migraines, and menstrual cramps. I’ve had a well-managed norco prescription for my chronic pain for the last 5 years. Dr. Thio insists acetaminophen should work, and I should lose some weight. 2nd visit in 4 weeks, it’s like the first time again. “Why do you take norco, I won’t prescribe it.” I explain all over again. He tells me to take acetaminophen. And lose some weight. I leave the office in tears.

On my first visit to Dr.Thio we wished to have my prescriptions switched over. We gave him an exact list of the medications. Instead he wrote a different prescription for one of the meds and our pharmacist questioned it and called and messaged Dr. Thio to ask about this. He did not respond. When questioned about it he said the pharmacist was not even a doctor and had no answer for why he did not respond to the pharmacist. Dr. Thio concluded it was our fault. Strongly suggest you stay away.
