Dr. David Tolliver, DO

I went to see dr Tolliver about a mole excision, it was easy to schedule an appointment but when I arrived the waiting room was at least 80 degrees, every patient was fanning themselves with magazines while the secretaries complained about how cold their office was, I waited for about an hour before I was taken to an exam room and passed tolliver in an empty room with his feet up texting on his phone, they refused to let my boyfriend join me (2 years post covid), but we had planned to do the procedure that day so he came back with me anyway and sat silently off to the side. Tollivers assistants were abrasive and not very welcoming whatsoever. I had wanted this raised mole removed from my cheek since childhood, it’s been my biggest insecurity and I’ve worn my hair down for at least a decade trying to keep it covered. The mole was about a centimeter and a half wide and raised; making it large enough to be covered by insurance but tolliver didn’t say anything about that; Instead he drew about 2 1/2 inch wide margins covering my entire cheek and said he wouldn’t take off a natural mole (there had been no changes to it to think it was a melanoma) and he immediately turned to my boyfriend and said “if she were MY girlfriend id tell her she’s beautiful and didn’t need it.” After making me wait for an hour he talked to my boyfriend longer than he talked to me and crushed my spirit over what I knew was a surgery that would require stitches and leave a scar. Not to mention how completely DISRESPECTFUL it was to talk to him over me when he knows nothing about our relationship and I thoroughly explained how it was for ME. I left crying, please do not waste your time. Their bedside manner is absolutely disgusting and he wasted my time and didn’t take me seriously for a minute. Pretty sad for a plastic surgeon, perhaps the insurance pay out wasn’t big enough for him and he didn’t want to waste his precious time. OR maybe he just didn’t believe in his own skill. I instead went to DR PHILLIP GRUBBS (Blacksburg, VA) who was a complete professional, my scar is half the size tolliver predicted, and let me know Of all of the risks all while understanding the significance of how sensitive of a topic and big of an insecurity it was for me. He made me feel comfortable and confident in his office after my experience with tolliver was a massive headache and made me feel hopeless.

The staff is always great . They have me on different treatment seems like it’s not working but I know they are trying their best

Adam has been working to try and cure my Hives. All staff are courteous and helpful.

Staff is great however every time I leave I feel I am “hounded” to pay my bill. I ask for a bill to be sent and I am constantly pressured to pay or asked when I can pay or how much can pay. I feel it is very inconsiderate especially during a time like this during a pandemic when some people aren’t even working.

Every time I go I am treated with respect. Dr. Mead is who I seen this time I believe. I've seen him once before months and months ago but he remembered me. thank You & god Bless!

Excellent staff, medical and front office. In and out in a very timely manner. Staff very conscientious of precautions for infection control. Extremely satisfied .

After many failed treatments, they quickly got me straightened out and on the right track. Susan Gaither always takes time to explain treatment and really cares about how you are doing.
