Dr. David Weiss, MD

If there were zero stars, I’d oblige. After a suicide attempt I was put under the “care” of Dr. Weiss. His “treatment” consisted of 30 minutes of his time over 10 days, with regular threats to keep me in his unit until they had billed the limits of my insurance. He only prescribed medication that UPenn had in stock, and after repeated postponing my release, left me with an 1,800 dollar bill. I saw very clearly that he had a complex, inaccurate diagnosis on my jacket the moment I walked in the door the first time to speak with him. We had zero patient/caregiver experience together up until that point. He’s a bully, and a terrible doctor. I can only assume Penn must endorse this kind of behavior, but it’s only a matter of time until the law catches up with him. Sleazy and contemptuous are two words that best describe him.
