Dr. Westra was thorough in his neurological exam and listened patiently to my past medical history. He reviewed my imaging in detail and took the time to compare to previous imaging over the years and ensured I fully understood what I was viewing. He answered all questions compassionately and fully.

Dr. Westra is amazing. Though I hesitated about having back surgery, I'm glad I went ahead with it. I feel wonderful. My sciatic pain was gone immediately. He was thorough in explaining the procedure and honest about possible outcomes. I highly recommend him. His office staff is the most efficient I've ever seen.

Dr Westra replaced a disc in my neck. His pre-op care and post-op was fantastic. Laid everything out, discussed all treatment options. Made sure that I was comfortable with the treatment plan and the surgery. I’m having him take over the care of my lower back, because he has been the best Doctor I’ve worked with over the last 14 years on my neck and back. I definitely would recommend him to family and friends.

I had back surgery last summer to correct a narrowing at the base of the spine. During the surgery something was done that caused a spinal fluid leak. First came the lump at the base of my spine than intense pain and migraines. I was told by the doctor that it would go away and he released me to travel even though I had all of the symptoms of a spinal fluid leak. I ended up in a hospital in SF who diagnosed the problem and sent me back to Westra. I was told to lay down and see what happens. After intervention by my primary doctor Westra finally operated again and corrected the problem. The process was 5 months of misery.

Dr. Westra is fantastic! Warm, professional and patient. Answers any and all questions. Excellent surgeon. Seven weeks after surgery I am almost fully recovered from both the procedure and my condition. He also did an amazing job on my scar. Soon it'll be invisible! Highly recommend Dr. Westra.

Dr. Westra rates as excellent. His office staff, in every respect, rates as the absolute WORST I have ever seen.
