Best Psychiatrist and Functional Medicine Doctor
She is so amazing! She has been the only doctor I have had that truly cares about my son and I's health! I feel we are blessed to have her.

BEST DOC EVER
20+ years of kind, caring, professional care. Passionate about you and your treatment. Takes two for successful outcome. Psych care is a journey, ups and downs, detours and breakdowns but if she is your doc you are in excellent hands. You may wait occasionally but she is truly helping a client, never screwing around with pharmaceutical reps or distractions. If you think you know better than her about the condition you have, believe me, she knows her stuff but works with you to reach the best mental health condition. It is up to you to be successful, it may take one, two or three meds or treatments to help but she expects you to do your part—-take your meds, keep appointments and be HONEST. Being less than forthcoming and not participating in your own care, failure is on you. I know of what I speak. She has seen me through the death of my daughter, a much needed hospitalization, been available no matter the hour, and supported me. THANK YOU DR SIMKIN.

She is an excellent physician with great insight, knowledge and people skills. We took our son there for years and she is an excellent diagnostician. She took him off meds that he did not need and he has done very well under her care. I would recommend her without reservation.

You may have to wait a while past your scheduled appt time as one reviewer stated but it's because when dealing with mental issues you can not know from one day to the next how much time any one person may need to speak with Dr. Simkin. She does more to try to help her patients than most psychiatrists do. She doesn't rush them out because their 15 minutes are up. Several other psychiatrists in the surrounding area do rush you out at the 15 minute mark and your no better than when you went in.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and so I have knowledge of the mental health profession. I chose Dr. Simkin for my adolescent daughter after much research. We gladly drive over 2 hours to see her. I have very much appreciated that Dr Simkin takes a "whole child" approach to treatment before jumping straight into psychiatric medication. We were able to complete a hormone workup, sleep study and genetic testing which all proved helpful for the most accurate treatment of depression.

Bottom Line -It is likely you will have to wait an hour or more after your scheduled appointment time to see her -Office staff is very rude, unhelpful, and can be difficult to contact -You will be charged around $300 each time you visit -You will be required to make more office visits than you would with other physicians (which I feel is more for financial profit than your wellbeing) -I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt many times but I am always left with a bad taste in my mouth
