Good Doctor
I have been seen by Dr. Parmar since 2013. I have had 3 other doctors at Dorn VA over the years. Two left the VA and the other one transferred to the Emergency Department. I think she is one of the best I have seen there. When I was first transferred to her she went over my medical records and medications in great detail, and then scheduled me for additional tests. I have found her to be very easy to talk to and she has taken care of all my medical needs quite well.

Dr. Parmar is below par for a Doctor. She wants to get you our of her office as soon as possible. When you question her about lab or other test that have been completed at the VA she tends to minimize the results. If you want additional test they will not be scheduled for another year. If you value your health especially if you are an older veteran do not use this doctor at the VA. Not sure what the survival rate of the patients of Dr. Parmar but I would dare say it is not very high. Run do not walk away from this doctor.

Dr. Parmar and her nurse had me arrested after I sent an email where I expressed what I would like to do to them after her nurse told me at 15 'til 4pm, why "all you veterans wait 'til end of clinic hours to seek treatment." She told me to go to the ER. I screamed at the nurse and left. And when I saw the MD weeks later for a appt., she said my major problem was my temper. She said it four times. All I needed was a prescription for high blood pressure, it was at 182/125.

Dr. Parmar is a Narcophobe. That is, you are pretty much screwed if you have pain requiring opioids or narcotics. Her fear of the system questioning her pain-med decisions drives her lack of concern for a patient's pain. Run. Run away from her if you are in pain.
