My daughter had a temp for 5 days. I explained to the doctor that this was not normal and something was wrong. Dr. Sells response to me was fevers are good because it shows that the immune system is properly working. She wanted me to observe her until the following morning to see if her temp reached over 102 & if so she would order blood work. That evening her temp was 103.8 so I called the doctor to see if we could get blood work sooner rather than later & she insisted on me waiting until the following day because she wanted her to go through the night to see if her temp would spike again. So around 4:40am her fever spiked & we were finally able to go get blood work the next day. The doctor called later that day with result saying everything looked normal and there was no sign of a bacterial infection. The following day my daughter eardrum ruptured & I had to take her to the ER. She had a ear infection & the doctor informed me that her blood work showed signs of infection.
