Dr. Dhivya Srinivasa, MD

I don’t even know where to begin about Dr. Srinivasa. She is a surgeon who works with meticulous attention to detail, a deep-rooted desire to truly help her patients, and a brilliant mind that addresses and solves challenges effortlessly. From an email that I had sent her, she had sensed that I was anxious and had many questions about an upcoming DIEP flap surgery. She called me on her cell and said, “Hi, this is Dr. Srinivasa, I figured waiting for your pre-op next week to answer your questions was too long to wait. I’m calling to answer your questions now. How can I help you?” In all my years in contact with health care professionals, I have never had a doctor initiate a phone conversation to alleviate my fears and anxiety. That’s the true heart of a doctor who cares. I also admire that she has dedicated her Instagram account to educating and correcting misinformation about reconstructive surgeries, specifically DIEP flap procedures. (I appreciate her preference for DIEP flap because from my own experience, I can see why using my own tissues is a much better option than implants). I wish I knew all this information almost 10 years ago when I was first diagnosed and had to make a decision about reconstruction. I realize now that I wasn’t given the full information about all my options. Dr. Srinivasa does that. Basically, if other doctors have told you that you’re not a good flap candidate, PLEASE meet with Dr. Srinivasa and let her walk you through the options and through what IS possible. She really makes ALL things possible! She’s a gifted, committed, hard-working, double board-certified microsurgeon who loves what she does and cares for her patients. Really, what else could we want from a surgeon?

Dr Srinivasa is accessible after surgery and meticulous in her work. Several doctors have commented on the beautiful reconstruction dr Srinivasa performed on me. I highly recommend her!

After two reconstruction consultations that left me confused, and even more undecided I fortunately had a third consult with Dr. D. Srinivasa, and boy am I glad I did. She discussed the deip flap (which she is an expert in doing), and implants surgeries. Due to my age I decided to go with implants, and its been six weeks, I look, and feel great. She even did a partial fat graft to fill in, for a more natural look. I highly recommend Dr. Srinivasa, I consider her a plastic surgeon artist.

I consulted with Dr. Dhivya Srinivasa. She provided explicit instructions for the DIEP procedure, hospital stay and follow up care. She even provided her personal cell and email and was available 24/7. I followed doctor’s orders and I am ecstatic with my results. Dr. Srinivasa is a brilliant and skilled surgeon with attention to detail. She adds kindness and a considerate human component to her skill set. A perfect combo.

There is no one I could speak higher of. She is the best micro surgeon in Los Angeles by far. She’s friendly, listens, and her confidence made me feel reassured. Her medical team is amazing. My family thinks she’s the best as well. Throughout the two surgeries I’ve had done with her, she made sure they knew I was doing fine despite the length. She takes her time and is very detail oriented. She checks up on us even when it’s not office hours and helped me find an amazing oncologist. I wish I could give 100 stars. Dr. Srinivasa is a life changer.

I am extremely happy with Dr. Srinivasa’s care and work. I was referred to her by Dr. Giuliano for reconstruction as I had chosen to have a prophylactic mastectomy with reconstruction. Initially when I had learned about my options (implants vs DIEP flap) I was not as familiar with DIEP flaps despite being a physician myself (different specialty). I had interviewed two other reconstruction surgeons but halfway through my consult with Dr. Srinivasa I KNEW she was the right surgeon for me and that the DIEP flap would be the right reconstruction. I just completed my first of three surgeries 8 days ago and my breasts have never looked and felt this amazing. I just got my bandages off and you can’t even see the incision lines! Not to mention my pain was minimal and only for 2 days after the surgery. I’m on my way home from my visit and am beaming with happiness that Im decreasing my risk of breast cancer and looking amazing while doing it. I honestly think she is the best surgeon!

When I got cancer and realized I needed my breasts amputated, I was pretty horrified. For one, I'm super squeamish and was scared to see how it would all look. Two, I was only in my 20's. Three, I had great breasts. On top of the trauma that is having cancer and cancer treatment, I was scared of being mutilated, especially at such a young age. Dr. Srinivasa is a godsend. Not only did she understand my concerns, she prioritized what was safest for me and what would give me the best results, considering my radiation and being so young, these breasts will have to last me a long time. She wanted me to feel like myself again and not be uncomfortable wearing clothes I wore pre-cancer. I just really appreciate her kind bedside manner and empathy and compassion for my situation. My reconstruction turned out amazing, even with the radiated side. They're like my old breasts but in a push-up bra. Dr. Srinivasa's work speaks for itself and I'm so grateful to have found her!
