I switched
You sit in the office, moving from room to room and often wait 90 to see her for a 5 minute appointment. I don't have that kind of time.

Scheduling Issues
This doctor tends to have a 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait before procedures are started and she is available to see the patient. This means you will be there for a minimum of 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours. After waiting for almost two hours, I went to the desk and was told this wait time was typical for Dr. Flanigen. While she is a good Ophthalmologist, waiting two hours is poor scheduling. The desk suggested that I reschedule. Why reschedule when you know it is going to be another 2 hour wait time? Do you want to spend up to 3 hours in the doctor's office? I DON'T.So, I left and am looking for a new Ophthalmologist.I even scheduled according to her lunch break so I could be the first patient after her break.

I was Dr. Flanigen’s patient before she joined Ophthalmology Associates. This practice has questionable billing practices, demanding a copay when Medicare is primary and another insurance covers the balance after Medicare, less copay. When The balance is less than the copay, they do not refund it. Also, when Dr. Flanigen had a solo practice, I never had a long wait. My recent appointment, the wait was over 2 1/2 hours. No one apologized. The doctor rushed through my appointment. I will not be back.

I was experiencing pain and blurriness in my right eye after being hit at soccer. The next morning I called and got an appt that day. I had never been to an eye doctor before and was nervous I had done serious damage. Dr. Flanigen was so nice and patient with me when I got nervous and needed to stop the exam. She calmed me down and was very thorough with her examination. She is great with patients I would recommend her to anyone!

I showed up 10 minutes early to my apt only to wait an hour prior to seeing a nurse; then taken to another room to wait a half an hour and still the Dr isn't ready to see me. At this point I need to leave to go to work and had to reschedule an apt at the earliest 4 weeks later. I pay out of pocket at $150 so to say the least I'm mad and still my eyes are in pain and light sensitive.

I was looking for a new eye doctor because I was really dissatisfied with my current doctor. I hit the jackpot with Dr. Flanigen. It was a thorough evaluation. She did a wonderful job taking the time to review my condition and test results. I had a very short wait before being seen by the doctor. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. It was more like a family atmosphere rather than a business. I highly recommend Dr. Flanigen. Sorry I waited so long before switching doctors.
