Awkward, subpar urologist
I've had Kaiser for some time now, and I always feel like they try to slow down or downgrade your care. Remember they are also your INSURANCE! They make more money when they do less for you!Dr Doc Winston is no exception. I saw him for prostate issues and kidney stones, and he said 'ohhh don't worry those stones are small, they won't be problem to you.' So instead of putting a tube in my bladder to try to fish them out, he chose to *surprise* do NOTHING. He said 'eat less meat'. Well guess what happened next? Two weeks later I ended up having the stone start to block my urine flows, and when I called Kaiser they told me this 'Wannabe-Doc' Winston was on vacation!! They said go to the ER when you get a chance or call 911, standard lingo from your doctor for sorry can't help you but good luck. It was excruciating and 24 hours later pass the kidney stone on my own, and I'm not kidding it was WORSE THA CHILDBIRTH! THANKS WANNABE DOC!

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Winston who operated successfully on me to remove a kidney mass on a Thursday at Suburban hospital in Bethesda, MD, and the following day I was released to go home. Full recovery took about another three to four weeks during which I had two follow up visits with Dr. Winston. Based on my own experience, Dr. Winston is an excellent surgeon. I recommend to friends and family without reservations.
