pls believe the negative reviews here- worst psychiatrist i've ever had. She could not care less about you or your mental health. I reached out to her in my time of need, clearly indicating multiple times that I was struggling and needed help with my ADHD refill. Echoing other reviews; she treated me like an addict for trying to get my regularly scheduled refill, making me jump through hoops for weeks at my worst, just to then turn around and deny it, patronizingly explaining that more hoops are necessary due to it being a controlled substance. Which it has been for the 6 years I've been on it, but I've never had such a dismissive, accusatory doctor. She made a big stink about getting diagnosed with ADHD as an adult vs child (which she should know is a very common occurrence for women), and asked to speak to my parents??? I'm a fully grown adult who did not grow up in the US with access to psychiatric care. I deserve to get the help I need now that I finally can, devoid of shame.

First, the receptionist is completely useless and ditsy. 2nd, the dr gives 2 min visits and sends RX with 0 refills, on normal RX btw, not controlled. So you HAVE to see her if you need your RX. the reason I’m writing this review is because I need people to know how much of a horrible person and money hungry this provider is. The useless receptionist called me after seeing this Dr TWICE Already. says they have been charging me wrong, and I say well I’ll just cancel for now and speak with my husband. I have a newborn and In a master’s program. so I requested at least one refill of my rx for anxiety because I had 0 pills at this point. Ofc, she rejected my request. I had to reach out to my old provider and ask to help me with a refill bc I can’t just go cold turkey???Maybe the reason she sends with 0 refills is bc she knows her patients don’t come back bc she sucks. This is BEYOND ETHICALLY wrong…. She is a horrible human and I hope she gets her karma one day.

Not a good doctor and doesn't seem like a good person either. Shows up late to every appointment. I've taken a low dose of dextroamphetamine-amphetamine for 6 years and she treated me like a pill-seeking drug addict during our intake appt for wanting to continue it, causing me terrible anxiety for two weeks fearing I'd be denied continuance. Patronizingly and repeatedly explained it's a controlled substance (thanks, I know) when I requested a 90 day supply to avoid government-imposed shortages. I had an insurance issue and she ignored my message to send a script to another pharmacy despite knowing it was incredibly urgent, I had to call again after no response for days. Did telehealth with her under a Pasadena address only to find out she's not located there, thus making it impossible for her to prescribe me what I need due to regulations requiring in-person appt access. She is a mental health professional who doesn't seem to actually care about people or their mental health at all.

Didn’t even realize I had appointment

The first appointment I had was canceled 20 min after my appointment time for “personal reasons “. When it was rescheduled she seemed dismissive of my concerns and when she decided to prescribe I took 5 days for her to send it in . My follow up appt she was 30 min late to the appointment time I finally just hung up no one has reached out to ask if I’m ok or anything. How can you be psychiatrist and be so disrespectful and inconsistent? People lives are at risk.

Avoid if you want/need help

Argumentative, lazy, judgmental, unhelpful. These are all words I would use to describe Dr. Ajanaku. Has an elementary understanding of mental health and medications. If you need a quick SSRI prescription because you are 'depressed,' she's your go to, but if you unfortunately live in the present day and are dealing with mental health issues , this is NOT the doc for you. She'll quiz you on the answers you give her and then try to poke holes in your story. Completely un-sympathetic and even accusatory. It's hard to imagine that someone of this demeanor has the ability to practice medicine. If you've already had bast experiences with psychs, please stay away.
