Dr. Zangari is the only eye physician and surgeon that I would have work on my sight. He is truly interested in making sure his patients are taken care of. He explains everything he feels you need to know about how to take care of your vision.

Dr. Zangari is a knowledgeable, personable, respectful and thorough physician. His staff are also respectful and thorough.

I am so thankful to have Dr Z as myOphthalmologist. He and staff are professional and caring plus having the latest equipment and technology needed for superb eye care.

Dr Zangari has been my Opthomologist for years; I always receive the best of care (cataract surgery a couple of years ago). He has the best of technology to support eye care. He takes time with me to discuss my eyes and what’s happening with my vision. I highly recommend him.

My husband and I are long time patients of Dr Zangari we see him 2 times a year. Today I saw Dr Zangari for a problem with my eye I was relieved to find out that it was extremely dry eye. Dr Zangari was reassuring and explained everything to me.

Dr. Zangari replaced cataracts in both of my eyes. Operations were 4 weeks apart. LensX-based surgery to implant Toric multi-focal IOLs. Just finished post-op visit for my second eye.Pre-op visits included clear explanation of process and options. Never rushed, Dr. Zangari always answered all my questions.Operation at East Bay Surgery Center was painless, efficient, and managed by a large team of expert, professional, caring personnel from check-in through prep, operation, and post-op.Dr. Zangari delivered 20.15 vision to my left eye and 20.20 to my right (starting from 20.24 and 20.60, and astigmatism).Cataract surgery is complicated and requires extreme care and expertise. I selected Dr. Zangari based on recommendations from friends dealing with a range of eye problems, some much more serious than cataracts. I now offer my strongest recommendation for Dr. Zangari for any issues that require eye surgery.

Doctor Zangari’s professionalism impressed me very much a few years back and forever since then . I see him regularly and would recommend always as to me there is no one better.

Cataract surgery was swift, painless and successful. No more glasses after 60+ years! And a friendly, cheerful doc and support staff, an all around good experience.

Dr. Zangari has performed two cataract and glaucoma surgeries on me with very good results. He always gives me ample time and answers all my questions at each visit. I have every confidence in his expertise as a surgeon and a doctor.

Dr. Zangari is pretentious, pompous, and outright rude. I felt talked down to and rushed. Truly disappointing as the woman at the front desk as well as the optician Matthew were both pleasant and welcoming.

Explained cataract surgery and showed a video on the 2 types of surgery. Will need to return and have measurements taken and surgery discussed. Found MD to be very knowledgeable about all aspects of the eye.

I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS! But, if it weren’t for Dr. Zangari I would be blind in one eye. On my way home from work it was snowing. I suddenly got floaters & then 1/2 of my right eye went black. I pulled over, looked up eye specialists & drove to Dr. Z.’s practice. It was closing, but he put his car keys down & took me immediately. I needed emergency surgery or I would lose my sight. Somehow I had torn my retina. He gave me the names of 2 surgeons he’d gone to school with at Brown, as I needed the surgery immediately. During that snowstorm my husband drove me to the doc’s classmate at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospital. Zangari’s classmate took me almost immediately— I had a vitrectomy. My eyesight is perfect in that eye and it’s thanks to Dr. Zangari. What he may lack in bedside manner— he certainly makes up in education, expertise, experience, and he’s a talented surgeon. I also like his irreverent sense of humor. I owe him my sight and am forever grateful to Doctor Zangari.

Dr Zangari has been my doctor for years. Dr Z takes very good care of my eyes especially with my family history of glaucoma. His staff is always very pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend Dr Zangari.

Dr. Zangari diagnosed and solved a painful eye condition that flared up several times over the years - it was caused by the type of arthritis i have, and he consulted with my primary care physician and recommended the medication that I've been taking ever since. His staff is top notch and and I'm very pleased with the level of care I've received over the years that I've been going there.

While trying to explain why I was in to see him, he kept cutting me off. He did not want to explain anything to me, just wanted to get me out of the office as quickly as possible. When I told him I need paperwork filled out for work, he said "What? I don't have time for that!" ( I took me 2 minutes to fill it out and have him sign it. and he spent 5 minutes small talking with the patient before me) ALSO...I have anxiety about going to the eye doctor and he thought it was amusing.

I was referred to Dr. Z because I needed cataract surgery which is actually the replacing of the lens. I was quite concerned about the outcome of such a procedure. Dr. Z and his staff were extremely thorough in the examination of my eyes. He explained what was wrong and what he would do to help me. He explained the lens options and the pros and cons of each. I made the choice for the multi-focal IOL (intra occular lens) which would all but eliminate my need for reading glasses and give great distance vision as well. The surgical procedure was a breeze. His anesthesiologist sedated me completely. AND, he only uses a liquid to numb the eye, vs a needle which other surgeons choose. I wasn't aware of anything during the procedure and woke up comfortably in the recovery room. I had only slight discomfort from the speculum which holds the eye open. I had 20/20 vision in two days! I will be scheduling the same procedure for my other eye asap! Dr. Z did a prefect procedure.

Dr. Zangari is very impatient and downright rude especially to women. My husband sees him and is treated with more respect and good ol’ boy jokes. He has made disparaging remarks about “women” and I have heard similar complaints from other female patients. Most importantly is his failure to listen and take the time to come to conclusions individually and not because he has jumped to conclusions. He has expensive equipment that is often out of pocket, uncovered by insurance expenses. Beware!

Was a patient for several years; had liked and respected him. Recently questioned him about a billing practice that I subsequently found out had been going on for years. I questioned him about this questionable and seemingly unorthodox billing method. He called his insurance company who then, on his behalf, fired me on voice mail. Nice. My new provider has left multiple unanswered voice mails. Until his office returns the phone call, I can't help but wonder if he is withholding medical records
