Unempathetic Doctor
I had a doctor visit today that left me feeling incredibly disappointed and disrespected. Despite being a patient at Kaiser Permanente for over 20 years and having a good bill of health, doctor DONG-YEN LAUREN SHIN MD M.D. was completely unempathetic and unprofessional. During my visit, she communicated to me in a sarcastic tone that I was not important and did not need to be seen by her because I did not have any urgent medical conditions. This attitude continued throughout the appointment, with the doctor making it clear that they thought my routine adult health check was a waste of their time. To make matters worse, when I mentioned that I preferred a translator because my primary language is Spanish, the doctor looked down on me and showed zero patience or empathy. I felt very unwelcomed and disrespected during the entire visit, and I left the office feeling upset and unheard. I believe that healthcare professionals should hold themselves to the highest standards of professional
