Dr. Dorothea Spambalg, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Spambalg for about five years now since I since I had my thyroid removed because of Thyroid cancer. She is absolutely the best doctor I’ve ever been to in my life. She is thorough, knowledgeable and stays on top of everything. Her staff is amazing. About three years ago she decided to not take any insurance anymore so everything is on a cash basis. I thought of making a change to a Doctor who takes insurance but then I realized it’s not worth giving up Dr. Spamblag.

My husband and I both see Dr. Spambalg. I have thyroid issues and he has type 1 diabetes. She is absolutely the best doctor we’ve ever had. She’s caring (sometimes in a tough love way, which is a good thing). My husband’s management of his diabetes is the best it’s ever been thanks to Dr. Spambalg. She’s punctual, but you never feel rushed. She makes us feel like she really cares and is invested in our health. Even though she doesn’t take insurance, she’s worth it. She doesn’t take advantage of that, and it allows her to make decisions based on what’s best for her patients rather than what the insurance company thinks is best. We highly recommend!! And her staff is great too!!

I hope you don't need an endocrinologist, but if you do, you can't do better than Dr. Spambalg. She is knowledgable, informed, open, and warm. I never felt rushed. Personally, I make a list of questions because she has so much information, and I don't want to miss anything. As an added plus, her office staff is terrific.

I have been seeing Dr. Spambalg since I first found out that I had type 2 diabetes about 15 years ago. She always spent a lot of time with me answering my many questions as this was kind of a shock. Dr. Spambalg gave me a plan of diet, medication and exercise. I found when I stayed on this plan my blood sugar was well controlled. On the visits where I may have strayed and was trembling handing over my meter, she was great in getting me back in line. Dr. Spambalg is the absolute best!

One of the best doctors I have ever been associated with as a patient or otherwise. Really quite an incredible human being!

Dr Spambalg cares and works with you to improve your health. Her office is well-run. She comes to her appointments with you well prepared -- she's looked at your chart and has a plan. She stays up to date on medicines and treatments. She takes the time to listen, understanding that my relationship with my family, work, etc are also a part of my medical care. I am so happy I have her as a doctor.

I've been Dr. Spambalg's patient for 5 years. She is an exceptional physician. Unlike so many doctors today, Dr. Spambalg looks at each patient as an individual. She is thorough. She remembers and studies my history, labs, and lifestyle and makes recommendations accordingly. She has extraordinary follow through, even calling during off hours to follow up on a specific detail discussed during an appointment. Her staff is professional, they are timely and I could not recommend her highly enough.

Dr. Spambalg is an A+ doctor. I don't think I've ever been to a doctor who is so thorough! She will keep on you though if you are overweight, but not in a nagging way. She stopped taking Blue Cross PPO, which I have so, I couldn't afford to see her anymore. My regular MD monitors my thyroid, but it is NOT the same as her monitoring. I'm considering returning to her and paying cash for my visits. She's just way more thorough at monitoring my thyroid. I highly recommend her.
