Frustrating Experience Overall
I went to Dr. Henstrom for a septo/rhinoplasty 2.5 years ago. While Dr. Henstrom is nice and it seems most people are happy with their experience, mine is an outlier. My recovery was pretty horrific because my stents clogged with so much blood, I had complete blockage, leading to an inability to sleep and sometimes feeling like I was choking when I swallowed. The office didn't seem to take my calls seriously. In addition, I developed a breathing issue that I didn't have before the surgery. My nose, while straight from profile view (which I am glad about), is also wider now than it was before, and a bone spur developed from the surgery, which increases the asymmetry I was hoping to address. My final result is very little like the projection they gave, even taking it with a grain of salt, as I did. The office offered to have me come for a revision, but I just don't feel I can trust him to do now what he didn't do the first time. Nor do I want to go through the recovery again.

Excellent, he genuinely cares and I trust his recommendations. I hesitated to try Botox. Dr Henstrom explained how it worked. I have found when I use Botox I don’t get migraine headaches. My treatments don’t last more than 2.5 months which is frustrating but it’s my body’s metabolism. We tried another brand and it didn’t improve so back to Botox.

Meeting Dr Henstrom via Skye (out-of-town consult) was a rewarding experience. My issue was/is having facial micro-nerve surgery. Damaged nerve after a head injury. He spent as much time with me as I needed. He thoroughly answered all my questions and concerns. He then outlined what he felt my outcome would be and what is needed to get there. . I now have a clear understanding of where Iam going and my outcome. Thank You Dr Henstrom and staff.

I was so impressed with Dr. Henstrom. He is a brilliant surgeon with a great bedside manner. I felt he cared and did all he could to give me the best information and outcome. The office staff made me feel comfortable when I called with questions they were so kind and informative. Love this group of medical professionals. Rare to find the quality and care I found at Utah Facial Plastics with Dr. Henstrom.

I had a great experience with dr Henstrom and have no hesitation in recommending him for facial surgery. He pointed out what I needed without sugarcoating it and explained why I needed more extensive surgery. He was kind and thorough and made sure I had everything I needed at home before surgery. No having to run to the pharmacy to pick up scripts. Preop and postop instructions were thorough and answered most of my questions. All in all I found him to be an excellent surgeon.

Dr Henstrom did my consultation. It was great. I came in with concerns but not sure what procedures would make sense for me. Especially because I'm younger (30) but after carefully listening to my concerns he recommended the right procedure for me. Great experience.

I was referred to dr.henstrum at the worst time of my life I was 2 years into dealing with ramsys hunt syndrome dealing with facial paralysis and severe pain. Doc took the time to listen . He was heaven sent ...he in turn helped me with the pain, paralysis, and he referred to necessary specialist when I would talk to him about other issues. I walk in his office and everyone treats you like family.

Dr. Henstorm was knowledgable, personable, and a true expert in his field. He took the time to explain any questions or concerns I had. I was apprehensive to undergo the surgery. Dr. Henstrom performed a complex rhinoplasty on my daughter who was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. She had many previos surgeries that included some significant failures which is why we ended up at the University of Iowa. Dr. Henstrom presented us with a very thoughtful and conservative plan that made sense in her case. He graciously took time to answer our questions in an honest and caring way. The results were spectacular !! No problems and she loves her nose and can breathe !
