Don't see this doctor!
Can I pick zero stars? One of the worst. It's a money making factory, not a medical practice. Find yourself a doctor who cares about you, not just his bank account.

Avoid this doctor
Avoid Dr Schottenstein. They don't answer the phone, all calls go to answering service. They don't return messages left there. I was running 15 minutes late and called ahead to make sure they could see me. Answering service said no problem, they are very flexible. Heard nothing more until I arrived, to an empty reception desk. Someone is supposed to come out and find you eventually, but I had to go looking for them. Finally they said yeah, btw we can't see you b/c you were 15 minutes late.

No professionalism, no 1 answers calls, no help...
I was his patient for a very short time. I was taken by his experience and reputation. But he is very unprofessional. NO ONE answers the telephone at his practice. No human to answer an emergency call or any type of call. Staff turnover is almost 100%. So no one to establish a relationship with in case you needed anything. He lashes out at staff at anytime and can be very mean if you catch him on a bad day. I'm in my 70's and thought I had seen it all but not this. NY has too many great drs for you to end up here. Run....

Spine pain
Dr. Schottenstein of NY Spine has greatly helped me with debilitating back pain. He is a very caring doctor who takes his time to explain problem and treatment. After seeking help from many doctors, I'm glad that my friend (who suffered immensely after back surgery) recommended Dr. Schottenstein. I'm grateful for his care.

The reason why I am expressing my views on this review I shall explain. My name is. Carlos Juaquin Turull. I myself am a patient of Doctor Schottenstein. For a period of about 15 years give or take a month or two. I would like to explain my medical conditions. I suffer from, RSD / CRPS. A disease with very little chance if any of being cured. The disease began with a hole in my right foot. and it began to spread through my body attacking my nerves from foot to brain. After two surgeries by two well-known surgeons, I was referred by my primary surgeon for treatment to the pain management doctor. Doctor. Schottenstein. My pain level is very high with no hope for a cure. Yet I found hope through the pain management treatment program. I would like to state. I know within my very soul, Dr. Schottenstein. Has the only one that has Honestly Cared Devoted time patience Forbearance along with everlasting treatments.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Schottenstein since 2013 and he is one of the best doctors I’ve ever been to. He has managed my pain since 2013, he doesn’t “push” narcotics, and he’s come up with the best treatment plan for my herniated discs/osteoarthritis/scoliosis. He listens; he never dismisses your concerns. I recommend him to everyone I know.

The appointment with the doctor was normal, however, when I requested to speak with the doctor about my MRI results he refused to follow up with me and had his office manager call and email me instead. I only went to this doctor because I had to use no-fault insurance- it was a waste of my time to deal with such an unhelpful and unprofessional doctor.

Dr. Schottenstein is a very knowledgeable and caring doctor. He takes the time to explain your options, he does not push narcotics and lets you be in charge of your own treatment. I was in extreme pain, and he performed my cervical epidural on my first visit so that i would not have to stay in that condition any longer! I was very frightened since the injection was going in my neck, and he took out the time to explain the procedure to put my mind at ease and was very attentive throughout and after the procedure as well. He also responds very quickly to email inquires and is a very down to earth and humble doctor. I would highly recommend him.
