NOT safe for women
I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time in the exam room and listened to Dr Child loudly discuss his fishing trip with his patient in the room next door. When he arrived, I told him I had an exercise related injury. He moved my arm up and down, told me it was fine and sent me on my way with an invite to his weight loss clinic. When I went elsewhere, I found out that the injury I had sustained was pretty severe, and it took months of work for me to restore my mobility.Would NOT recommend this doctor for women, as every concern I expressed was ignored or laughed at.

Uncaring and unprofessional
He was uncaring about my son’s physical and mental health. He rushed appointments and wasn’t interested in helping I guess. Dr. Child lost important paperwork we needed him to send in to my son’s employer several times and then did so again and my son was terminated from his job because Dr. Child didn’t turn it in. He didn’t listen and was very unprofessional. I’ve never experienced this kind of treatment from any physician before or since. My son changed physicians and is getting great care from a better provider. His mistakes cost my son his job and Dr. Child didn’t care. Shameful and disappointing.

Don't waste your time or money
Came here because he had decent reviews, boy that must have been his family. This doctor gave me an I dont care about you vibe the moment he walked in. Was out of there so fast. Said he would get the nurse to do labs. An HOUR AND A HALF later the nurse stumbled into the room completely unaware I was waiting. Apparently he forgot to tell her. Even worse, I was the only patient there. I also had to reach out to the lab to get my results several times. When my lab results came back with several things wrong I never even got a follow up call from the doctor. Even worse I reached out several times to the doctors office to let them know my experience and I got a whole lot of we will call you back, never got a call and of course no follow up EVER. Honestly probably the worst experience I've ever had at the doctor's. I would be ashamed to be the doctor or associated with him.

Dr. Child and his staff are very patient in helping me deal with my health issues. They were especially patient this week with my difficulty in making the telehealth appointment work for the first time. Now maybe I can do that with my little "greats." I am a retired hospital medical transcriptionist having worked out of my home office for 15 years, long before the pandemic made it necessary. In those days doctors dictated reports. I don't know why I have avoided the use of internet camera devices. I miss my work and enjoy the time I spend with Dr. Child and his staff in person!

I was able to get in quickly. The doctor didn’t seem comfortable talking about women issues or questions about sexual health or women’s health. He was rushing out of the room before answering my questions and referred me to a specialist. If you can’t talk to your doctor about this stuff who do you talk to? We pay them to listen hoping for answers. I would not recommend him as your MD.

I waited total for 2 hours! He did not show interest in me or ask follow up questions for what I was telling him. I was not able to access the patient portal. I did not feel he put forth much effort to solve my problem besides taking blood and telling me I would receive a postcard in the mail if everything was in the correct range or a call if it wasn't.

I saw Dr. Child as a new pt. Needed BP medication refilled, that's it. He said I was obese based on my weight (NOT how to measure BMI) & said if I lost lbs., no need for BP meds. I wear size 12-14 pants. I'm 5'3", Lg. framed, & a former body-builder. I have serious muscle mass. Due to TBI, I'm on meds for seizures. They disallow weight loss. I work out religiously & eat well. When I said that, he basically called me a liar. My brother runs marathons & HE'S on BP meds. Did Dr. C skip genetics?

I was highly recommended Dr. Child from a friend and I have been thrilled with the attention and care I have received! I first went to Dr. Child to help me manage and have accountability for healthy, sustainable weight loss. He has set up a plan for calories/activity/water intake etc and also prescriptions as needed. I follow up with him monthly with measurements and stats and he helps adjust the plan and care each time. He has been a great fit for my health needs!

Dr. Child is one of the most friendliest and professional doctors I have encountered. He is very good at knowing what it is that you need based on the information provided to him. He will very clearly and accurately explain his findings and ensure that you understand everything! His medical staff operates on a high level and are very helpful! At this point, I feel like the combined aspects of all that I have mentioned was enough to win me over and change family physicians. Highly recommend him!
