Dr. Dwight Gurley, MD

Had a bizzarely confrontational phone conversation with him. He would not let me end it.

I was a patient at Alaska Regional Hospital. Dr. Gurley was a hospitalist and was very rude and dismissive of my concerns. Why would Regional ever employ him???

I went to the Soldotna hospital for a uti after blood was drawn I was told I was going to be admitted and given strong antibiotics For a rare bacteria in my blood that Dr Gurly had never seen before. He said he couldn't let me go for at least 20 days. They gave me 13 different medications plus 2 strong drip antibiotics every hours, a shot every morning in my stomach and drew my blood for testing every morning for 8 days! I lost 25 lbs, plus I was treated very bad by Dr Gurly and 2 of his nurses. The 8th day I demanded to leave and Dr Gurly said he spoke to the disease control people in Anchorage and he said he couldn't let me go! That night I left with the IV in my arm! I drove 3 hours to providence hospital in Anchorage and told them everything. They ran their tests + CT scan, essays, full physical and they said I was healthy and "Nothing wrong" Nothing! They also told me Dr Girlie was in charge when Soldotna hospital had an outbreak of MRSA!! He should not be a Doctor!

Dr. Gurley was incredibly rude and disrespectful toward my wife during a consultation for our 19 year old son. He was so rude to her that our son stopped him and let him know that his bed side manner was lacking and that he needed to show his mother a lot more respect than he was! Avoid this man if you can!
