Dr. Edgar Altares, MD

He had me took two tests and then told me to 'go home and gargle with saltwater.' Seriously? I then had to go back and see another doctor 2 days later because my condition got worse and they gave me a prescription - which is what any good doctor would have done in the first place. Total waste of my time and money when if I saw someone better I would've felt better sooner.

Saw him at Henry Ford same day clinic Royal oak, he came checked my kings said it’s clear and told him of my nose congestion said he will give something for that and tested me for covid and flu and left . Didn’t care that I’m suffering from body aches, congestion, itchy eyes and itchy nose etc . Asked for doctors note he only gave for today said I can return tomorrow if test results negative didn’t care that i am physically sick and cannot return

I went in yesterday with a sore swollen throat with obvious white marks on my tonsils. He took a strep test, it came out negative, he then didn’t test anything else, didn’t feel my lymph nodes, he asked if I was coughing, I said no, he said my lungs were clear, gargle salt water and use cough drops to numb my throat. After I left yesterday my throat has become worse, even after five different times of gargling salt water, and I’ve developed body aches.. I feel like my time was wasted, and I’m going to another urgent care as we speak because it even hurts to talk.

I didn’t like Dr. Altares. He lacked bedside manners and seemed to not listen to me and at one point talked over me. Only when I told him my husband was a physician did he seem to want to prescribe an otc pain med that I didn’t ask for, but seemed upset about it. I saw him at HF Bloomfield walk in clinic. I can’t recommend this physician.

I seen Dr. Altares in the walk in clinic at Henry Ford. He is the worst doctor I have ever seen. Everytime I asked a question his response was “I’m not sure”. He lacked knowledge and compassion.
