Lack of Communication
Today is the fourth day my mother has been at Mease Countryside and I have not seen or spoken with him. I have asked the attending nurses to tell him to contact me when he is making his rounds. Also left a message with his office receptionist to have him call me. Last night after 8 pm I called for her status and was told he was making his rounds at that time and AGAIN asked to have him call me. The nurse have been great in trying to keep me updated and the RN was awesome BUT have not heard from him at all.

This star is for the decisions made by the office
I am told its against the law to have a 90 day supply by Doreen. Now I must make a monthly appointment and pay $100 out of pocket because we don't have insurance. The state of Florida let's your Dr write a 90 day supply, you just can't get it all at one time. So this decision has made it more difficult for my son who never leaves the house aand counts on his medicine without all the drama. He is now saying he will quit taking his medicine because of the inaccuracies of the office knowing the law. I need Dr Palanca to step in here and make sure the office is giving correct information. I feel now its just about the money and not about the patient. I was paying 80$ every 90 days and now its 100$ a month.

Dr Palanca was a huge disappointment. My mother was in ICU at Mease Countryside hospital for 37 days and counting. He never once called me, her daughter in charge of medical decisions. I requested he call me for a straight week and he never did. The nurses even indicated that he was not good at communication. His lack of compassion is unacceptable.

DO NOT GO HERE. Specifically for medical marijuana patients, they take your money and don't provide service. Happened twice now.

I went by to get some info on Medical Marijuana to control my Parkinsons tremors that medication wouldn't relieve. I met with Doreen and I couldn't have been more pleased with the information provided and the professional manner of the discussion. I would recommend Dr. Palanca and his staff without reservation.

No Compassion, Not Your Physician for Life! In over 2 yrs, saw Dr twice. PA's & nurse practitioners every month. Darlene the office manager and a menacingly huge NP ambushed us (a man 67 & a woman 70) and the Dr was too cowardly to even explain what or why. He doesn't want to do pain management anymore... but he's still pushing medical marijuana. Darlene shouldn't be doing marijuana physicals, but make payment arrangements & she puts in the paperwork. Then they want $100 every 70 days.

After going to his office since 2016 I have only seen him once. My husband and I are seniors and have had several hospitalizations so we have several specialists. However we need a primary care physician for the referrals. From the first visit Dr. Palanca decided not to send us to a pain specialist but to prescribe all of our meds. However every visit became us seeing a nurse practitioner who would call the doctor on the phone for some code for the scripts. Today his sister fired us. Doctor for?

Dr. Palanca is a certified Marajuana MD. Well, he is a very greedy for money that is for sure!!! $250 cash to be seen for a 70 day prescription!!! Then another $100 every 70 days to renew your prescription. CRAZY~GREEDY!!! The Doctor at the dispensary charges $169 for the 1st visit with a SEVEN MONTH PRESCRIPTION and $169 with an included Dr. visit every seven months to renew the prescription!! WOW!!! Big difference!!! Do not use Dr. Palanca for Marajua

Dr. Palanca is awful. My poor mother got stuck with him via the hospital. She was dying, but he and his staff would always say her vitals and everything were ok. Misdiagnosed. And would be very hard to get a hold of. Never got a hold of him. It was even harder to get a response. They would not listen to me, her daughter in charge of her care. Blew me off. My mother was dying, her body was shutting down, and in clear pain; it was obvious. But yet he did nothing.

Misdiagnosis of ailment. Had emergency outpatient surgery elsewhere. Doctor lacks communication skills with patient, saw him for a total of 30 seconds. (NO KIDDING!) Office management overbooked, stressed and overworked, total chaos! Beware of being prescribed medications from "compound" pharmacies. The cost is prohibitive and in my case prescribed with NO use for my ailment.($300.00) Pharmaceutical reps in by threes and fours while I waited over an hour for appointment. Go elsewhere!
