Dr. Edward Galena IV, MD

My daughter was born a month early due to her being breech, she had to spend some time in the nicu were I was pumping breast milk to be able to bottle feed her as she was struggling to latch in the first week. My daughter began to thrive and was home within 7 days. After we were home she started to latch and I was already pumping plenty of milk. Dr.galena seen my daughter in office and was concerned with her 2oz weight loss. I was told breastfed baby’s can loose up to 10% of birthweight. everything she went through I thought 2oz loss was amazing. He pushed formula and made me feel like I was doing something wrong. He made us come back 3 days for a weight check not even giving her a chance and she did gain anyway. He still said it was not enough and to supplement he said “your making enough for her to survive but not thrive” my 1st time breastfeeding he discouraged me, made me feel I was failing my baby. He is VERY uneducated and dismissive. He pushes against parents instead of help.

Unconcerned and uninterested with what I thought could be some contributing factors to my child's ailment, almost seemed bored and dismissive with what I had to say. Spent 3 minutes or so telling me what he thought and didn't care to say hello or be somewhat friendly to my child. I get a very bad vibe from this doctor, will not be seeing him again.

This was the worst experience I I have ever had as a doctor. He was very unfriendly and unprofessional. His manner was very dry and it seemed like he did not care for his patients at all. He did not even say goodbye and he just left the room when he was done. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone.

Terrible. This practice advertises themselves as pro breastfeeding and they are far from that. Dr. Galena was literally clueless and downright damaging when it came to my breastfeeding journey. When he asked me how much I pumped AFTER a feeding and I told him about one ounce he told me I probably don’t have enough milk and should use formula. I was a first time mom and so scared and panicked I was starving my baby and started supplementing and almost destroyed my breastfeeding relationship with my baby. On top of that he just wasn’t very pleasant and I even enjoy a matter of fact doctor.

Provides medical care contrary to advice of established health organizations. Condescending and insulting. Accusatory and unprofessional.
