Be careful who treats at emergency room
A family member went to emergency room at a large hospital in Langhorne, PA. The hospital is in our insurance network, but this doctor is NOT. He only met with a physician assistant so doesn't really know who this doctor is. Fortunately our family member was okay and went home that day. However, he soon received a huge in the tens of hundreds (4 digits) of dollars from this out of Network clinician. Our insurance contacted them (with us on the phone,) and told them how to properly submit the bill to them for processing. So far, all they have done is continued to send the huge bill and attempting to collect from my family member. So very frustrating. How could he tell who is in or out of his network in an emergency room?
