Dr. Edward Jordan, MD

Dr. Jordan was the on-call surgeon I met with in the Ogden Regional ER to discuss surgical options for gallbladder pain. Before he met me, he made assumptions and conclusions without asking me one question or inquiring about my complicated medical history. During our consultation, I was in a significant amount of pain. The entire consultation felt like he was annoyed that my pain was intruding on his plans for the day. He interrupted our conversation mid sentence to take a personal phone call where he set up a lunch date. Dr. Jordan did not answer questions about the surgery. When I asked him, “How long does an average surgery of this type take?” His response, “It will take as long as it takes…” Um. okay. Hours later, just prior to the surgery, I was anxious and had questions about the surgery and expected to see him prior to the surgery. He did not meet with me before or after the surgery. The whole interaction felt like he was asking himself what is the very least I can do? I found his lack of humanity and professionalism alarming and his behavior arrogant, belittling, and callous. I am grateful for dedicated nurses who compensated for the doctor’s poor bedside manner, communication skills, and compassion.

If you smoke he will let you know how he feels about it.was really fast finding me another doctor I think when you make a appointment they should let you know he doesn't do surgery on smokers. Thank you for what help you could give me.

Dr. Jordan some pretty cool guy, although he did refuse my last two surgeries. Get the impression that I was a drug addict, I do not take drugs when he performed my one surgery I didn’t take anything after because I’m opioid intolerant. No I don’t even drink alcohol for 20 years. He must have me mixed up with another person but I don’t hold that against him he see’s a lot of patience.

Following a surgery I experienced thrush and an infection. After a round of antibiotics I ended up with thrush again and an extremely painful C-Diff infection. This was treated with another antibiotic. Several weeks later I am experiencing the same painful C-Diff symptoms. CDiff is often recurrent. Dr. Jordan refused to return my call to his answering service. He told the answering service that I can go to the ER or wait until after the holidays for an office visit. This was unprofessional on his part and this type of poor response contributes to healthcare waste. He could simply have returned my call or ordered a second round of antibiotics for C-Diff. When deciding on a surgeon, make sure you select one that will be responsive if complications occur...

My visit today was pleasant as always. Dr. Jordan answered and explained what the procedure would entail. He was very personable and encouraging. If in the future I would need another surgical procedure, I would definitely request to have Dr. Jordan as my surgeon.

Dr Jordan is so kind! He took a lot of time with me and explained a lot to me that helped ease my anxiety about an abnormal Abdominal CT I had done in another state. I have not been impressed with the Doctors since I moved and I felt I needed to have a second opinion. I came back to Ogden because I know him and he cares about everyone he see’s and he is an awesome surgeon!

He is great down to earth and gets me.
