Dr. Edward Nicklas, MD

Always very helpful in in treating and monitoring my diabetes.

I've been seeing Dr Nicklas for 4 years and am very happy with the care I receive. I have an autoimmune disorder that causes thyroid issues. Dr Nicklas has always listened to me, and tested for other things to rule them out (when appropriate). He also explains things well, often drawing on the whiteboard.

Worst doctor's office and doctor experience EVER and I am speaking for myself and another family member referred to him. I work in the medical field as well and never have I experienced such unprofessional and horrible treatment of a patient. The red flag should've went up immediately when the doctors told us to call our OWN PREAUTHORIZATION REQUEST FOR A DRUG HE WANTED TO PRESCRIBE. My family and I have worked in doctors offices all our lives and NEVER have we asked the patient to call their own preauth request in and without giving the patient all the details of the drug being requested, i.e. dosages and frequency. In addition NEVER had I ever been to a doctor who blew off your concerns and jump to a conclusion immediately and not even bothering to do follow up labs, imaging, etc. If I stood by his blatant ignoring of my concerns my new care team would have never found the adenoma's in my body causing the concerns in my body. I went to see this doctor to get my thyroid medication refilled. He doesn’t want to discuss anything else concerning your health, only your thyroid, so don’t even ask. I had one request for him, to prescribe name brand thyroid medication, I don’t do well on generic and my previous doctor, who retired, told me to make sure I don’t use generic. After my bloodwork, he said my dosage was too high, even though I had been on the same dosage for over 10 years. He said he would call in a lower dose. I use a mail order pharmacy and when I received the new medication, it was generic. I immediately phoned the pharmacy and they confirmed it was generic. The next day, I phoned the doctors office and the nurse tells me that the doctor was the one who ordered the new medication, not her, but she would pass on the fact that I didn’t want generic. I asked for a copy of my bloodwork and she said it had been mailed 2 weeks before. I asked for another copy. To this day I have never received my copy.

Dr. Nicklas was EXCELLENT. He sat with me and listened to all of my symptoms and concerns, he got a detailed history from me and never made me feel rushed. He spent time with me making me feel important and cared for and seemed to truly care about finding solutions that were best suited for my situation. He was patient, friendly and personable. Possibly one of the best experiences I've ever had at a doctor's office. Highly recommend!

I am very pleased with this doctor. He is very thorough and takes whatever time is needed to answer all my questions.
