As someone who suffered through 2 years of Dr. Tyson’s sessions, I believe my opinion matters. Be careful because this man is very manipulative. If you feel the need to see him, check the facts and don’t trust a word that comes out of his mouth. Dr. Tyson oversteps his boundaries and surpasses what his job title embodies, and not in a good way. I was prescribed medication that was unnecessary and because of his manipulative tendencies, my family and I accepted his decision. Bottom line is, Dr. Tyson cannot he trusted, and should not be trusted. Be careful!!

Dr. Tyson oversteps his bounds as a doctor in an attempt to be a therapist. This causes the appointment to run much longer than intended and also caused an unwanted increase in charge per appointment. Additionally, he pushed an increase in medication even when the symptoms were severely negative. Perhaps he is better with younger clients, but as a young adult, I felt very uncomfortable.

I found Dr Tyson in Dec 2015 and have been seeing him on a monthly basis now but first started off bi-weekly - I do not live in Austin and although the commute isn't favorable, I find my appointments well worth it. I've lived with binging and purging for 20 years now and I know very well that my treatment will NOT happen over night, it's a process. I'm thankful I found Dr Tyson and will continue to seek his professional medical experience for my recovery.

Dr. Tyson cares tremendously about his patients. He will spend two hours every apt. with us. He is gently, he never makes the patient feel the disorder is his/her fault, in fact he is adamant with them that it is absolutely not their fault. He works with them carefully checking vitals, attitude, weight to assess status of the disorder. His team is phenomenal and we highly recommend him to anyone who suffers this horrid disease.
