Dr. Edwin Newman, MD

Not good. He never told me, in all the years I saw him for shoulder pain, that I could get a REVERSE shoulder replacement and be 95% good as new. He always told me I would lose mobility above my shoulder, and that is just not true.

Dr. Newman handled my Rotator Cuff surgery. He was attentive and never rushed. He explained everything thoroughly before and after the surgery. He is an awesome Dr. I only wish he specialized in spinal issues as well.

a minute ago NEW I see that my post was taken down. I had surgery back in June and ended up with 3 types of infections and literally had to ask for medicine. Here we are December 1st and still healing from the surgery. I have found out that cape fear is great for infections. When I went in OR I Noticed all the tools to replace my hip out and not wrapped as they should be before surgery. I called over 48hrs ago to set up our patient therapy where they should have called me and still no call back. They need work on their communication with patients. I found out on tic toc from an orthopedic doctor on getting a wound vacuum. I suggested it to my doctor and they said ok. You have to be you own advocate with these people. Also if you go, there are two locations make sure you ask for the right one. I highly don’t recommend cape fear orthopedics. I can name four other patients that had this experience with infections at this office. Please get a second opinion. I had five other surgeries in pinehurst that were flawless. Good luck ?? Dec 30th 2022 and two phone calls to Dr Newmans office asking why it’s taking 2mths to get me into physical therapy. This has gone on for 3mths now. Allison hennon was the one who was going to make this happen and it didn’t. Incompetent staff. Literally watched Dr Newman months ago hand the paperwork to the staff and here we are still waiting on First health to call Me for physical therapy. Personally I think that whole team is upset from the review. Save yourselves some headaches and go to southern pines and get taken care of. Funny when cape fear staff says this. Thank for nothing Dr Newman and team, You all left me hanging again.

Dr Newman has replaced my right knee and left hip. Great job rehabbed well and complete use of both. My office visits have always been very prompt no long waits in the office.

Dr.Newman has done joint replacements on my husband and myself. He listened to what we said and gave us enough information to make a decision that was the right one for each of us. We would both recommend him to anyone who wants a great outcome from their surgery!!!

When no one would listen, my husband got Dr. Newman! Surgery and recovery for my superman would finally be done. (three months had passed) Honestly my physically fit husband has always been a no nonsense fitness man. His knee was injured helping a comrade during a training exercise, he did not complain. The limp around the house was heartbreaking, the muffled sound of pain at a wrong move...told me how bad it really was, Dr Newman was a SUPERSTAR SURGEON! Don't wait, this Doctor is no nonsense
