Dr. Lurix saved my life. I had gone to two other gastroenterologist and three surgeons who's opinion was to have complex surgery that would have left me on a feeding tube for life. I went to Dr. Lurix out of desperation for just one more opinion. After seeing my records and previous test he disagreed with all the other doctors. After proper medication and robotic (by a bariatric surgeon) surgery, I am greatly relieved. I would have not lived much longer without his expert knowledge and advice contrary to all the other doctors. He told me, "trust me, I know I'm right", and he was.

He is kind, and he listens! I have never felt rushed when I am with him. Although finally getting an appointment and getting to him is initially difficult, the end result is worth the effort. The Greer office is somewhat better than the Verdae one.

If only doctors were more like Dr. Lurix. Hospitalized w/an emergency colon bleed,I called to ask if he could call me, not knowing he was out of state on vacation. He returned my call & spent over 30 minutes on the phone with me. He is not only the best doctor I have ever had (I am 72) but the smartest. It doesn't matter what you mention to him, he seems to be well informed about other areas of medicine. His nurse, ALWAYS returns my calls quickly. I would travel far to keep him as my doctor.

Good luck trying to see this doctor. First, his office keeps you on hold forever. Then when they finally transfer you to who you "have" to speak to you get a voicemail and the person doesn't call you back. When you finally DO get to speak to the "right" person, you are told that as a new patient you have to make an appointment with NP first then get another appointment to see the doctor. WHAT A JOKE!!!

He's an excellent doctor and person. I went to him regarding GI issues and he recognized stress played a big part of it. He takes the time to listen and gives thorough explanations. He won't hesitate to refer you to another specialist if he feels it will help the condition for which he's treating you, I only see him every six months but he never forgets a detail from a previous visit.

As a patient of Dr Lurix , I know first hand of how great of a GI specialist he is. He didn't give up on helping me when he couldn't find a GI reasons for the IBS that was controlling my life. He referred me to a sx specialist that didn't agree w/his theory. However, sx proved Dr Lurix to be CORRECT. Although I still have bouts with IBS, it no longer controls my life. YES, I RECOMMEND this Dr.. T. Logan
