Dr. Newman withheld my Mother's squamous diagnosis from her, stating 1. Possibility of causing patient harm and 2. Probability of causing a life altering event. Withholding a cancer diagnosis is ethically unacceptable.We found out a few months later when she had to have a blood transfusion that is had metastasized. For a Derm who is supposedly an expert in skin cancer he obviously has not perfected verbally delivery of skin cancer diagnosis.He even chickened out and wouldn't see her for suture removal.Total dbag but I am finding that is most of Sharp's Doctors.

I saw Dr. Newman in June 2015 for a Basal Cell Carcinoma on my ear. He removed the cancer and covered the removed area with a graft of skin from my neck. He kept me informed throughout the process, including the fact that not all of the cancer was removed (this was a common result of skin caner removals at that time and not a reflection on his surgery skills). He explained the treatment procedure if the cancer came back. It has not. I have moved and changed insurance a few times since then and have seen several dermatologists. Until I point out the exact surgery site, none of them can detect the graft. Quite a testament to his skills.
