Dr. Elisabeth Barbosa, MD

It is hard reading some of these reviews and connecting them with the Dr. Barbosa I know. She is so nice and kind; she will answer any questions you have and does not press surgery unless you request it. I have seen her for both sinusitis and laryngitis. My son is seeing her now for a tonsil removal, adenoid removal and turbinate reduction. I have enjoyed every appointment I've had with her.

Dr. Barbosa helped me figure out my sinus issues, and eventually did endoscopic surgery to help make breathing easier and potentially lower infection risk for the future. She's very knowledgeable, doesn't push surgery (we talked about risks/benefits/alternatives). I've healed up great, and almost two months after surgery I'm very happy with the whole experience.

Excellent doctor. She is very caring, professional and takes the time to listens. I would recommend her to my family, friends or anyone.

I have seen Dr Barbosa for sinus evaluation, surgery and follow up. EVERY visit she has not only good, but has exceptional bedside manner. She explains what she sees and what the options are to move forward. I have never felt shorted on time with Dr Barbosa or questions not answered. All appointment wait times have been appropriate, 10-15 minutes. Her staff has been friendly and helpful. I easily recommend Dr Barbosa.

My son was scheduled to have ear tubes put in. At our pre-op she was dismissive and rude! Not only did she not request any blood work (a CBC should have been done as he was being put under general anesthesia and has a pre-existing clotting disorder!) but when I asked for clarification if no food or drink included water she scoffed and said "Look, I know it sounds mean but if anything comes up into his lungs while he's under he'll die!" Cancelled his surgery. Her staff are great but she's awful!

Explained the risks and potential for complications of uvula removal to restrict snoring. Referred to other experts in field for further consultation.

Dr. Barbosa is wonderful. My 4 yr old daughter was referred to her due to recurring ear infections & obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Barbosa performed surgery to remove tonsils and adenoids, and insert soft tubes into her ears. Everything went perfectly, and I felt completely prepared for the recovery thanks to the detailed instructions provided. 5 days later, my daughter coughed up blood and was rushed to ER. Dr. B dropped everything & was there in no time to perform another surgery. Thanks Dr. B!

She is extremely rude. She told me i need to make sure to follow up with her office to make sure my son gets an appt for hearing test well i called a week an a half later to see why they havent called like she said they would and come to find out she never even did the refferal. Rude and irrigant!! Do not reccomend her

Horrible bedside manner. Dr decided to preach to me for half an hour about a medication I was on that had nothing to do with the reason why I went to go see her, she didn't even get into how I was going to be treated for allergies, the biggest concern.

Excellent doctor! listened and attended to all of my needs as a patient. her medical assistant followed up with me within a week to see how i was doing. i would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for an ENT provider.

I have unfortunately needed the help of an ENT doctor three times this year. First, my son needed his adenoids and tonsils removed along with a big plug of ear build up removed and tubes inserted. Then my little girl decided to ride her bike full force down a hill into a poll bashing her nose badly, and lastly just over the weekend she decided to stick a gem very very very far up her nose. In each of these occasions, Dr. Barbosa was outstanding in her care of my kids! Feeling thankful!

She was really bad; bad attitude, terse. I am surprised because CMH usually has good docs. I was really disappointed. I can't recommend her - I would suggest you find someone else to see.

Arrogant, terrible bedside manner. Don't question her about her treatment or why she's prescribing a particular medication; when I did I was kicked out of her office.

Dr. E. Barbosa is an excellent E.N.T. for patients suffering from Thyroid Cancer or Salivary Gland Cancer. She's an excellent technician and her experience as a surgeon in the Army at Walter Reed Army Hospital provided her with huge amounts of experience so that she has seen most types of head & neck cancers in large numbers, which has honed her skills as a diagnostician and surgeon. She might come-off a bit strident at first, yet she is warm and caring when you get to know her; 10 Star Rating!
