Dr. Elise Carman, MD

I called after hours when she was on call. She said it was Friday night and she’s out and doesn’t have my chart. I called back again requesting another doctor on call. 15 minutes later someone named “ Jacob” who wouldn’t identify himself further and sounded like he was calling from a bathroom stall said I can’t speak with dr Carmen. I call the office the next day like she told me and she refused to speak with me on the phone. She’s rude and unprofessional. I don’t know why she would be out while she’s on call and then give me an attitude about it like I’m in her way. She’s getting paid for it and shouldn’t be on call if she doesn’t plan to work

I was a patient of Dr. Carman for over half my pregnancy. Things seemed like they were going fine when I received a letter in the mail at 26 weeks pregnant that she would no longer be an OB as of 9.1.2024 (I am due in early October). She would not let her office give me any further information until my next appointment. I also had a glucose test scheduled with her office during this time and needed a follow-up 3 hour glucose test after that. In the meantime, I was trying to switch to another provider but no one would take me until they had all my test results. I had to wait 10 days for my glucose test results from her office. Between making me wait to talk to me about how she could no longer be my provider and delaying my test results I was effectively held hostage by her and her office for several weeks. If this is how she treats women and their unborn children, I can only imagine how she treats her gynecological patients. My advice? STEER CLEAR!

This was my first time to the GYN because I just turned 21. I was poked fun at for never having sex, my questions about BC were ignored, the doctor and nurse were both sassy and rude. I told her I was hesitant to start hormonal BC and instead of telling me pro/cons, helping me figure out what form would be best for me, she literally just said “ok” and told me I’d have to have a serious conversation about my fiance being willing to “pull out” and wear a condom. what?? I went into this office looking for a way to help with heavy periods and start family planning and received nothing but ridicule. I would definitely not return to this office, and now I have to find another doctor who *actually* wants to answer my questions.

Dr. Carman is a wonderful doctor. She is thorough, fully explains things and answers all of my questions, is kind and compassionate, and someone I fully trust with my health and the health of my daughter.

Not a good experience with her. Difficulty getting in touch when issues arise, disorganized office, wrong meds called in for me, records lost and lots of judgement passed! My sister was also a patient and as a brand new mom (3 weeks in!) had clogged ducts…she was told that she was being “dramatic”. We both switched to summit medical and can’t believe the difference in care and professionalism!

The doctor was amazing, but dealing with the office staff was not pleasant. After the 3rd time my visit was rescheduled with less than 10 minutes notice, I changed doctors

Dr. Carman is simply the BEST. She delivered all 3 of my boys. She always made me feel comfortable and truly cares about your well being and your babies. I could never go to another OBGYN. Love Dr. Carman!! And my c-sections scars are perfect and barely even noticeable. Such an amazing doctor.

I also had an iud and had heavy periods as a result. I see another patient here had heavy periods and was able to fix the problem by having it adjusted with another Dr. Carman recommended tubal ligation because I knew I no longer wanted children. I misunderstood the procedure that she described. I had the tubes removed. A year later after the operation, I’m having nightsweats during my periods. I’m 42. Menopause? Too early I say. I believe it is because blood flow was damaged to the ovaries.

Wonderful doctor. Took the time to listen and explain everything. Her office staff and assistant were also extremely capable. I highly recommend this office!

Kind at first, but that shortly changed when she made insinuating remarks. I do not recommend getting an IUD with her.

I went to see her about a problem. She examined me and prescribed meds. The problem reoccured. Another visit (another co pay), she appeared to be guessing what the problem could be. She prescribed something else. Did not work. I ended up going somewhere else. They ran tests and discovered it was a minor problem and could have been treated the first time! I would not recommend this doctor. Whoever created her website did not proof read it. The website has grammar errors and is not professional.

After moving and finding a new OBGYN I now know what it feels like to be truly taken care of. I got an IUD from Dr. Carman 8 years ago, and a couple years after had excessive bleeding and pain. She told me it wasn't a big deal, checked for a string, and moved on. It recently happened again and my new Dr immediately took an Ultrasound, noticed my IUD was out of place, removed it, and educated me. For all I know Dr. Carman inserted my first IUD wrong years ago and never cared to check.

Loved this doctor, she was very attentive and showed a lot of experience.
