Kindest, most caring doctor I've ever had
Dr. Eckhardt is one of the best doctors I've ever had, and I've been to many. I was extremely nervous for my appointment due to a very painful and traumatizing experience I had with pap smears when I was 21. I avoided going back for one for almost a decade because I was terrified to be in that much pain again. But I finally decided to schedule an appointment and I'm so glad Dr. Eckhardt was my doctor. She made me feel seen and validated, saying I never should have experienced that much pain during a pelvic exam and that it was indeed a traumatic experience. That alone made me trust her. But she also said that if we couldn't get the exam done today, that that was totally fine and there was no pressure. That helped relax me enough to be able to try it. She talked me through everything, checking in at every step, and I was able to do the entire exam with just mild discomfort. She was kind, caring, funny, informative and just what I needed to feel safe. Thank you Dr. Eckhardt!

*highly* recommend!
I've had some doctors I've really liked in the past, but Dr. Eckhardt might outrank them all. Right out of the gate, she was warm, had a sense of humor, and she really listened to me throughout the appointment. I was immediately at-ease and never felt rushed. While I was there specifically to see her as an ob-gyn, it was very clear that she cares deeply not only about her particular field, but for her patients' overall health as well. For example, I've been hypothyroid for over a decade, and none of my primary care docs has ever given me as much information about my condition as Dr. Eckhardt; she even switched up my prescription a bit. While I haven't hit pre-menopause yet, I'm considerably more at-ease with the whole idea now that I'm confident I've found just the right doc to get me through it. She even sent me a couple reading recommendations! So, in a nutshell, while I normally dread my pap appointment, I left this one thinking, 'Huh, well that was lovely.'

I have seen Dr. Eckhardt for around 5 years for GYN care. This past year I underwent my first pregnancy and was grateful to have Dr. Eckhardt's support during that process. She is someone who is not afraid to tell you what she would do in a situation, to advocate for her patients and ensure they're getting the best possible care, and to not overcomplicate things. I had a c-section delivery for my twins and Dr. Eckhardt not only delivered my twins on her day off because it was a better time for me, but also worked to make every last detail as easy as possible, because she knew the surgery was stressful for me. From calling ahead to ensure the technicians made me comfortable, to getting me Nitrous Oxide for stress relief, to holding my hands and telling jokes to distract me during my anesthesia, to visiting me in the hospital even when she wasn't conducting rounds, she showed genuine care for me as a human. I would recommend her to ANYONE looking for a compassionate and smart OB-GYN.

I'd been looking for a new OBGYN for a long time, and feel like I really hit the jackpot with Dr. Eckhardt. I have PCOS, which most providers haven't had many suggestions about managing. She not only took the time to explain more about how PCOS works, but also suggested several medications that might help manage the condition, and thoroughly discussed side effects, what results to expect, etc. Super friendly, non-judgmental, and knowledgable.
