Dr. Elizabeth Kamin, MD

Dr. Kamin comes across as not a happy person. When I asked for her to recommend someone else for me because, her bedside manner caused major anxiety and worsened my depression. Her answer to me was go to a different practice. I hope and pray she finds her inner peace. Someone who chooses this profession you would think would care about people. Or at least make them feel like they’re cared for.

I had problems with her office getting my follow up appointment made in which I did get resolved. A week before my appointment I was going to be out of medication so I sent in a refill request which didn't get filled. I called her office to find out Dr. Kamin charges a $25 fee to call in a prescription. No other doctor out of the eight I see do that so I was floored she does. Well after complaining she called in my prescription then very nicely terminated me from her care. This right here shows what she cares about and it SURE ISN'T YOU. Find someone else !!!!

She is cold and uncaring. I have been seeing her for two years now and not once has she listened to my concerns.

Dr. Kamin is perceptibly intelligent and knowledgeable, and she is very efficient, but her manner is cold and distant. Ultimately, my treatment is going to require more than just medicine, and I'm not sure I can do any kind of clinical therapy with her. I don't trust cold-natured people. How can I be myself around her? I'm warm and chatty. I don't want her to be my friend, but surely there is some middle ground between friend and automaton! What she has done for me so far has been very helpful, as far as managing my medicine. But frankly, once the dose is right, I can get my PCM to handle that. But my PCM is not qualified to guide me through talk therapy, CBT, group therapy, or any similar course of care. I really need my psychologist to connect with me on some level. Maybe I'm not supposed to need that. I don't know. But I do need that in order to sort myself out. I do not believe I can get that from this doctor, though I can see she is highly competent.

I've seen Dr. Kamin for several years and she has always been awesome!

I arrived for my initial visit. Dr. Kamin did not say hello nor introduce herself. She simply walked down the hall expecting me to follow her. She never, ever made eye contact with me. She never asked how I was feeling. After squinting at her computer and mumbling about it being a new system she gave me a paper to fill out, walked me to the front. turned around, and left. Nothing. This woman should NOT be in the mental health field. No empathy, nothing. Worst medical experience ever.

Dr. Kamin disregarded my concerns and when one antidepressant medication failed, she advised me to just continue what I was doing - which was an issue I made an appointment with her in hopes to rectify.
