Dr. Ellen Gendler, MD

I've been going to Dr. Gendler for over fifteen years. She is empathetic, knowledgable, and extremely genuine. She doesn't push treatments or products unless you ask for them. She gives you her honest opinion about treatments and whether she thinks they will make a difference. I get injectables and have never looked 'overfilled.' She is more conservative so that you look natural. I've never had any of the issues that some people complain about afterwards. When I see her, it's like seeing a friend because of her warm personality and engaging manner. When I was diagnosed with bladder cancer, she recommended three doctors to me. She even facilitated my speaking with one of her patients who had surgery with one of the doctors she recommended. The one I chose is the most amazing doctor who I still see and who has spared my bladder! I never would have known about him if not for her. She also recommended a great female gynecologist who I still go to. I trust her implicitly. Her

Over the course of my 40s I gathered the names of several dermatologists from friends and physicians….I went to see several of them but never had any work done. I found Dr Gendler through a friend who is a physician who looks *amazing*. I went to see Dr Gendler and knew immediately she was the one. I’ve been seeing her for several years and she is extremely talented, natural, funny, very, very smart and patient. She’s also given me stellar recommendations when I’ve needed them for other doctors. She’s absolutely one of the best physicians I’ve ever met.

I have been a patient of Dr Gendler's for over twenty years. She has a gift for finding pin dot marks that turn out to be potential problems. Things many would not have seen. She is calm, extremely caring and never rushes you. In terms of cosmetics, she only wants you to look your best and as natural as possible. i always appreciate her honesty in this area. She is very knowledgable in all aspects of medicine, so i feel she is looking at the whole picture when she examines you and notes down history. You could not get a better doctor!

Dr. Gendler is fantastic. I have been going to her for twenty years and always leave her office feeling happy based on her expertise with injectables. What makes her special is her combination of mechanical skills along with her artistic ability to understand bone structure and age appropriate outcomes. You will never look "over injected" or fake. Just a very natural enhancement. Dr. Gendler is known as a "master" at her craft and this was confirmed to me by one of the top oculofacial plastic surgeons in NYC. As a bonus, she is extremely nice, patient and kind. I would never go to anyone else and I would highly recommend her to anyone either thinking about getting injectables for the first time or someone who is looking for a better outcome than what they are getting from their present doctor.

My appointment was on July 2, 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. I was amazed at the attention to detail regarding sanitizing. The office emailed me complete information on protocol of mask wearing and what would happen when I arrive from temperature checking twice to an interview regarding CovidEtc. There is only one patient being dealt with at a time and one in the waiting area versus the usual number which is many. The quality of the reception area in terms of cleanliness and organization of where you stand and a shield between you and the receptionist with dispensers of sanitizing product in numerous locations. The examining room was clean, as usual but extra precaution with a plastic bag for your clothes and all nurses and Dr Gendler in masks and double mask on the doctor! I felt completely safe and really appreciated the care and effort made to ensure I was safe. The procedures done were superb, as always, because I believe Dr Gendler is an excellent dermatologist.

If anyone is looking for a cosmetic dermatologist I would highly recommend Dr. Ellen Gendler of Manhattan. She is an excellent, caring and extremely competent doctor. She makes you look natural but definitely improved and absolutely more youthful. She actually cares about her patients. I have been going to her for 20 years and have recommended many patients who are extremely happy. I wouldn’t consider using anyone else. Her office is immaculate and her staff is extremely professional in every way. I hope that this recommendation will help anyone considering a cosmetic dermatologist because I have no doubt that she will make a difference that you will be grateful for.

How does a patient really know how fabulous her doctor is-well she tries another doctor! After more than 15 years of exclusively being treated by Ellen Gendler for a variety of cosmetic and general dermatological treatments in New York City, geography forced me to find another dermatologist while living in Miami. NEVER AGAIN. When you are being treated and cared for by the best, no one else can come anywhere near the competence, compassion, professionalism and results that I experienced during my professional relationship with Ellen Gendler. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Dr. Gendler , quite simply, is the best.

I came to Dr. Ellen Gendler to get fillers to build a bit of volume in my cheekbone area. Dr. Ellen Gendler seem to be impervious to what I wanted (and needed) and instead injected filler in my chin area. I reminded her that I wanted cheekbone enhancement, not chin. She pretty much ignored me. I was stupid enough to trust her. The result is puffy jowls, a lumpy, uneven chin and no positive enhancement whatsoever. I had cheekbone enhancements done before by another doctor about 6 years ago and was thrilled not only with the result but also the way he involved me in the process -- Dr. Ellen Gendler on the other hand refused to discuss with me the changes she made (she actually said "I'm not going to discuss this with you"). She never took the time to hold a mirror in front of my face to discuss what she was about to do and she left the room before I even could take a look in the mirror. $2000 totally wasted and a very unhappy look in the mirror.

I have seen Dr. Gendler several times since she was a resident at NYU. She has always been warm and compassionate and has given me excellent advice.
