Dr. Emily Deboer, MD

We were on the cusp of a tremendous decision, to get a tracheostomy for our 1 year old with chronic respiratory failure. We didn't feel ready to make that kind of commitment and it felt like all the hospitalists were trying to scare and intimidate us, saying if we didn't, we'd have to sign a DNR to keep us from going to prison in the event... Until Dr. DeBoer came along. She designed a uniquely tailored treatment plan, in conjunction with her ENT and GI colleagues for airway clearance, secretion management and infection control that avoided the trach all together. Juniper has had no hospitalizations or major episodes since (3 years). Juniper lives almost exclusively on room air and only sleeps on her non-invasive vent at night. Dr. DeBoer returns calls within 2 hours generally and I have refills in about the same time. I've never felt rushed and she all questions are answered with clarity.

If you want a doctor who refuses to call you back and refuses to answer any simple questions without seeing you then this is the doctor for you. She doesn't listen to your concerns/questions and won't give you the time of day unless you have an appointment. I highly do NOT recommend this doctor. I like doctors that show they care about my child and his heath.
