He's bright and understands medication
Dr. Perakis was my psychiatrist for over a decade when I lived in IL. I will admit that he was not the most warm and fuzzy guy in the world when I first started seeing him for medication management. Most psychiatrists are not; they're not therapists. But I grew to like him and respect his advise. He DID listen to me and he never made me feel bad for not following all of his advise 100% of the time. He worked with me, trying to come up with a good fit of medication. This man is bright and understands psychiatric medication management, which is what I want in a psychiatrist. I have really missed having access to a good psychiatrist when living in KY. PCP's do not know how to manage psychiatric medication.

Dr. Perakis knows what he's doing. I can tell by the questions he asks, and the way he thinks before he speaks. He's got a lot of knowledge in that good brain of his. I feel I'm in good hands.

I had never see any doctor more disinterested in what I had to say EVER. The man looked miserable, like he was in need of therapy. Most of the time I was speaking he was either fiddling with his computer or some paper or another. It was actually something that it is rude in any circumstances. My appointment didn't even last half hour, he literally seemed soo bored that he looked nauseated. I was sent there by my PCP for anxiety, i left there feeling like he was in need of help.
