Dr. Alcera has been treating my son (11) for over a year, he is my sons favorite doctor he loves to see him.When we started seeing Dr Alcera we were in a terrible place, my son was going through a lot of trauma, anxiety, and distress. Dr Alcera has so much experience it is amazing he is in the area, he has been awesome with communicating and dealing with my sons incidents with compassion and guidance. I would recommend him to everyone and being a nurse myself my standards are high.

Avoid him at all costs! He is the most condescending doctor we've ever come into the contact with, throwing insults and rude comments at you from all directions. My daughter has been dealing with anxiety and depression from a young age, and he spoke to her in the most berating tone with her mother and an intern present. He continued to make light of several other issues, playing them off as a waste of his time. The lack of compassion toward someone struggling with mental illness was astounding. We're surprised he's allowed to practice medicine.

I visited Dr. Alcera for anxiety and depression related issues. He would not listen to what I had to say and would constantly tell me my assumption about myself were incorrect. He told me I did not have depression, even though I had multiple suicide attempts, and told me my anxiety was not severe enough for me to be on medication even though I have anxiety attacks several times a week. He also contradicted himself several times during our appointment.

He was my Dr @ Bellevue hospital where he worked before he started here. There is no words I can express my gratitude and feelings on how he helped me. He is an exceptional human being Im thankful from the bottom of my heart for all he has done for me. He always made me smile and always answered all questions with excellent knowledge Im thankful to have Dr alcera as my MD in bellevue and always will be grateful to him for all he has done for me. Thank you dr Eric. Sad to hear u left bellevue

I saw Dr. Eric Alcera at Booker Behavioral health outpatient clinic in Shrewsbury, NJ where he now works, i did not feel he was the right fit for me. He was too rough for me, he would give me advice that he felt i needed. He would not listen to anything that i wanted to do. He made me nervous and uncomfortable working with him. He would not let me work with anyone but him, telling me that no other doctor could handle my case. He would cancel Appointments all the time on me.
