Total Shoulder Replacement 5 Star Experience
5 Stars: I had a total shoulder replacement 2 months ago, his pre surgery consultation was thorough, informative, and friendly. He answer my questions and alleviated my unfounded concerns while giving me statical probabilities for realistic expectations for outcome and associated risks. The surgery went smoothly due to his skill and my recovery is going well with minimal pain initially and now an absence of pain. I am making steady progress on my mobility with PT/OT assistance. Should have done this a couple years ago!

I waited two hours to see the doctor. He spent less than five minutes with me. He is arrogant, condescending, and clearly elbow issues are not sexy enough for him. I have no idea if he is a competent surgeon. I suspect he may be. But he is a terrible doctor.

He is very kind and super competent! He is one of the few doctors I know who will call you at home if that is needed. The OT staff at UNM tell me he has had miraculously good outcomes in most of his patients he did surgery on.

Dr. Benson is a very skilled and of course knowledgeable surgeon whom I am grateful to have taking care of my shoulders. He responds to my questions and fully explains procedures and what is required. He is also very kind and caring. I would recommend him to anyone I care about.
