Dr. Wollins is INDEED terrible!
I agree wholeheartedly with the commenter that spoke about how she was dismissed by Dr. Wollins. I had to see Dr. Wollins after dealing with multiple issues that were chronic and was in consistent pain. I was not only dismissed by Dr. Wollins, he looked me in the face, and said, and I quote, "There is nothing I can do for you medically." Seriously?!?!? And he's a chief?!?!? Kaiser must seriously be in need of physicians, because for you to be a chief and have a patient in chronic pain, for you to dismiss them and show that you could care less is a failure to the Hippocratic Oath. If you don't care sir, you need to find another profession, because medicine is certainly not for you. Not only did I leave his "care", I left Kaiser altogether. And what happened? I found a REAL doctor who cared about my situation, and not only found that my sigmoid colon needed to be removed, but I had abcesses that would have caused me to end up in emergency surgery had I not sought out a remedy to my pain.

Chief Gastro with Kaiser-refused to diagnose or treat me due to being a chronic pain patient-this was put into writing. He may be a good doc otherwise but for me he was very poor, Not my fault I have chronic pain. Hung up on me when I was trying to get his help. So not right.

I was referred to Dr. Wollins by another doctor who could not remove my polyps and recommended surgery. He agreed to give removal by colonoscopy a try, although he felt another try might be necessary--or it might not work. Arrived at Falls Church at noon for prep, procedure was scheduled at 1and started a few minutes early. Each person involved explained what they planned to do/did and treated me with attention and good humor. I am happy patient even if the procedure had not apparent success

Dr. Wollins was very professional and treated me with empathy and concern. He understood the sensitivity of having my first colonoscopy and went to great lengths to explain the process and allay any doubts and fears. He was interested in my family history and thorough in investigating my primary reason for being there. I feel his concern, his thoroughness, and his bedside manner make him an excellent doctor that I highly recommend.
