Horseback riding accident
By far the worst doctor I don’t even want to call him a doctor because calling him a doctor is huge insult to other doctors doing their jobs and tries to help people, long story short he was the worst of a worst doctor ever! I had a terrible/near death experience in 2021. I throw off a horse broke my spine. I was in a shock. Constantly sobbing. He didn’t even try one bit to comfort me. He barely examined my upper body with his HANDS! It turned out I actually broke my right rib as well but his negligence lead to that diagnostic very later on with a different doctor. He only CT my lower body. He left 10 min later without any warnings. Not even “hey I’m leaving now but you are in good hands with these nurses” I don’t know something. You can’t just leave when your patience in this situation. I had to leave with that broken rib without knowing for a month. Later on, in my hometown I talked to many mant ER doctors and the all agree that these kimd of freak accidents doctor should CT scan al

I found Dr Schumacher unable to listen or comprehend. I can only imagine it must be difficult to keep ER doctors at Wilcox. I know there is shortage. He literally could not stand still to diagnose accurately for more than a minute. He made up his mind and disappeared. Luckily the rest of the staff was aces. My recommendation is to avoid him and wait for another doctor if you can.

I had to visit clinic while on vacation. Dr. Schumacher was indifferent, uncaring, involved with amusing the staff while I was waiting for his results. Results were given very briefly, no eye contact was made, no explanations nor did he ask if I had any questions. After he left me he walked down the hall making spastic gestures..he did get the staff laughing. He could have cared less about me. Though it was a one time visit I thought he would try to act professional and somewhat caring.

Prescribed the wrong dosage of medication for a blood clot. Did not admit my husband even though blood work indicated he was in possible heart failure.

My family and I have been to the ER a number of times for a variety of reasons. We’ve had the pleasure of having Dr. Schumacher attend to us. One such event was very serious.....truly life-threatening. He handled it with poise and when I was freaking out, he was unflappable.

I had to visit the ER due to sever Vertigo attack and Dr .Erik Shumacher as well Chad the RN and all the ER staff was great to deal with. They could communicate patients conditions a bit better between each other I am not repeating as much. But over all he seemed to take time a listen to my history never made me fill rushed. He also gave suggestions on meds and further care doctors to see.
