Every visit has been great! Dr. Vazquez is professional, takes time to understand your situation but still direct in his assessment on what needs to happen to keep you healthy. He is very knowledgeable and shares that knowledge with his patients so they understand fully his health recommendations. My wife and I both go to Dr. Vazquez and love every visit we have with him.

Don’t go to him! I moved to the area & needed a primary MD I had all my records sent to him. He didn’t review any of my past medical history! I needed a refill on one of my meds. I called the office 4 days in a row trying to get a nurse to call me back. I finally reached the nurse on the 4th day at 3:45. I had already been out of my meds for a day. She said he wouldn’t refill the maintenance med w/o seeing me even though i Just saw him 2wks prior. Rude, uncaring and unprofessional!

I sincerely wish I could have met the Dr that people are referring to in other reviews on this page. He was cold and dismissive. He took about 3 minutes with me. Ask me nothing about my history. I have finally realized that Family Practice Drs are capable of handling strep throat and that’s about it. Very disappointing experience.

Dr Vazquez is one of the kindest and wonderful drs in this town! He takes time to truly listen and never feel rushed to his next patient. If he is in Des Moines I would truly encourage others to try him. He itruly finds alternative things before sending u to a specialist. I have never found such a wonderful and caring doctor in Des Moines. As long as he is here I would never go to a dr such as him. I feel so lucky to have him as my doctor. I feel so lucky to have him!!

I have been seeing Dr. Vasquez for over 5 years. He knows me as a patient-remembers my personal and medical history. Always gives the time you need. Open and listens to my suggestions/ideas. Never condescending or pompous. Very knowledgeable and intuitive. I always feel comfortable talking about issues/concerns. Has made time in schedule to see me in urgent situations. Has a sense of humor. Cares about social justice and social determinants of health.

He had a very pleasant demeanor and it was one of the best visits I've had with a doctor. He really made me feel comfortable, was very thorough, and he didn't rush. Maybe it was a slow day, but he seemed just fine giving me more than 5 minutes.
