Dr. Estherann Grace, MD

When my daughter was 16 I realized that she had Anorexia. I took her to a Pediatrician in Boston who diagnosed her with Anorexia but was honest enough to tell me I needed a specialist and referred me to Dr. Grace. Dr. Grace startled me with a blunt and fierce statement. 'I will NOT let your daughter die!' I felt as if she had slapped me in the face but it was a much needed slap to wake me to how seriously ill my child actually was. My daughter did NOT die. She had over three years off and on of hospitalization, set backs and victories but eventually she became well. Today she has been happily married for 28 years, has three college graduate children, one of whom teaches High School students with learning disabilities, and one of whom just graduated Medical School and is starting her residency in Psychiatry ! My daughter is an RN plus her BS in Nursing. She currently is Nurse Manager at a Community Mental Health Clinic ! THANK YOU DR. GRACE for your stern words in 1986 !
