Condescending
Condescending, incorrect and a fake friendly personality. Said he would do follow up, never happened. Ego bruised very easily when asked simple questions. Would not recommend Dr Van til.

Disrespectful, and obstructed prescription.
I had seen Dr. Van til twice: a physical; an arthritis issue. Nothing urgent. I liked him. Recently, I contracted Covid. Through the Thrilby clinic's portal I contacted him, requesting P. (A COVID medicine. (Medicine names not permitted here.) He refused. I'm 68. I have been a pharmacy tech and know the importance of this for seniors. It prevents the virus from reproducing. I responded to his email, noting that the most trusted medical institutions, including U of M, Johns Hopkins, Harvard Medical, NIH all underscore the importance of seniors taking it, 'To minimize the risk of hospitalization or death.' Dr. Van Til replied that he would not prescribe it to a patient with a normal immune system. (Without a serology test my immune system strength is unknown.) He added, 'I trust you will not be contacting me further.' What kind of uncaring response is that? Two day later I developed an inflamed carotid artery. Serious, even life threatening stuff. Luckily, I didn't have a stroke.

Terrible bedside manner and put my health at risk
I was a new patient who just moved to the area having a severe reaction to the vaccine. He walked in the room, told me he refused to treat me. I thought he was kidding. He wasn't. I burst into tears as he escorted my fiance and I out of the building without offering any care from another doctor while I was experiencing a health crisis. This doesn't seem to align with the Hippocratic Oath he took. Ultimately, he did me a huge favor. I found an amazing PCP at another practice who provides exceptional care and partnership in what has turned out to be one heck of a health battle.

Dr, Van Til listens....really listens. He appears to honor that I know my own body and when something isn't right. I like that we're partners in my health care.

Dr. Van Til has been my doctor for a number of years and my father's for far more. I'm relatively young and haven't had any unreasonable sickness or health issues, but he's quite trustworthy and is genuinely interested in my life and those around me. Fantastic doctor!
