Dr. Farid Hakim, MD

I recently had a terrible trip and fall in my driveway, tearing my rotator cuff , breaking my shoulder ball, fracturing my humerus, and breaking my wrist. Dr. Farid and his team took amazing care of me. I am two weeks post op and just changed my dressing for the first time. My incision is the cleanest , straightest I have ever seen. It is obvious my scar is going to be minimal. I also have zero pain and was off pain meds within 5 days post op. I am anxious for my next appointment and I am ready to begin rehab. I hope I never have the need to see Dr. Hakim again after recovery , but if I do, he will be my first call! I also love his calm and reassuring demeanor as well as his support team.

My mom, 88 yr. old, fell & fractured her femur. She arrived at Ascension St. Vincent's Hospital/Riverside and was scheduled for surgery with Dr. Hakim, the next morning. Beth from Baltimore (probably the lead nurse because she saw everything so well) provided a 45 to 90-minute surgery estimate. Before the surgery, we were lost & Tyson (never caught his last name) voluntarily guided us. Tyson was so friendly/willing to help us in our time of concern for my Mom. He brought us to the operating waiting room (the desk nurse said, 'You can't go in', but Tyson brought me to my mom to kiss her & say that I was praying for her). Tyson-great guy!Next, Dr. Hakim finished operating in 35 min. & met us in a side room reassuring us that our Mom's surgery was successful. We waited 90 minutes in a beautiful stained-glass room. Then, the intercom prayer occurred for patients & staff & my wife said 'I want to come here if I ever need this type of surgery'. Dr. Hakim-very personable/humble.

I snapped my left humerus in two. I was afraid to have surgery, so I tried a bone growth stimulator for a long while. Due to my health issues the bone growth never happened. Consequently I had surgery performed by Dr. Hakim. He, and his team did a fantastic job! I am super greatful to have the use of my left arm back.

First time here, great set up, checkin and care was taken by all the staff and Dr Hakim. Sadly, was told Dr. Hakim will no longer be seeing me, but I look forward to meeting his replacement, Dr Kim.

What can I say? Dr Hakim gets the job done! this was the only the second surgery I had in 29 years. I was reluctant to have surgery but Dr Hakim came highly recommended and I see why. His professionalism and leadership can only be compared with the likes of those in the armed service. Last but not least, his staff is outstanding! Joseph is one of a kind he handled my short term disability as if it was his. I never desire to have surgery again, but if I do, it will be done by Dr Hakim and staff Ralph Mckinney USN Retired

I have a compressed fracture of my tibia as a result of a cycling accident last Wednesday. It was very difficult to get an appointment with an orthopedic on short notice; Southeast Orthopedic was extremely accommodating with my circumstances and matched my injury with the Dr most qualified to treat me. I am grateful, I am relieved and I’m confident that the diagnosis and the care plan Dr Hakim prescribed for me is optimal.

Dr Hakeem has been my go to doctor for any orthopedic issues for the last 15 years. I was an operating room nurse in my earlier life. So I respect the quality, knowledge and personable attitude he has along with his staff. Plus the care I received was excellent.

Great visit. Explained everything that was wrong with my mothers wrist. Put her in the correct brace and set her up on a treatment plan to get her better.

Staff was warm and friendly and Dr. Hakim was a great listener and very approachable. Did not act like he was in a hurry!
