Dr. Farida Bounoua, MD

Over a year after hernia surgery, I. still have a hernia and pain. When I called her office to find out what mesh device was used to see if it might be listed as faulty, they would not tell me.

I waited 45 minutes beyond my appointment time to be seen. I was asked to fill out forms I'd already filled out previously, but those forms were not presented to the doctor. Even though all my information was on the forms, the doctor asked me the questions all over again in order to put them on the computer. I found her to be brusque, rude, and not particularly compassionate. Her computer desk is in a tall power-play position, so I was forced to stand, even though I had injured my knee over the weekend and it hurt. She made assumptions as to my condition but never asked me why I was limping. I did not feel comfortable asking her anything. I wanted to ask about alternatives to surgery, but I felt she really didn't care. She chose the most drastic surgery possible for me, and I suspect the one that would bring her the most money. She totally dismissed my concerns as to the side effects of the surgery. I don't know how she is as a surgeon, because I chose not to have the procedure.

Dr Bounoua did a skillful emergency procedure for me that likely saved my life because of her experience! She spoke in a direct manner to me about my case which I appreciated greatly.

I had Medi-Cal insurance when I was treated by Dr. Bounoua so I was expecting the worst but I thought Dr. Bounoua did a great job taking care of me when I had issues relating to appendicitis that lasted for around 3 months. I felt like I could always get in contact with Dr. Bounoua and she had me admitted to the hospital right away when I when I called her on Thanksgiving with an urgent situation. I also spoke a lot with Arlines in the front office and she was always so nice and helpful. I’m very grateful to Dr. Bounoua!

She left a metal marker in my husband and it traveled from his armpit to up against his vertebrae/Spine. In the 2nd surgery, she said he was too fat to retrieve the wire marker and left it in. Now he can't move his arm higher than his shoulder! Rest assured we found another great doctor to do the job at another hospital. You are taking your life in your hands with this doctor if you let her touch you!!!

Dr. Bounoua was wonderful to work with! She did a great job of explaining the surgery, performed a perfect surgery, and 5 years later, I'm still down 100#s. She is AWESOME!

Absolutely horrible ~ can not speak English even though she thinks she does ~ more concerned about her clothes then patients! Has no idea what her Oath said or means and she gets real excited to call you fat then ~ then tells you to go home and die because you're too fat for me to do my job and repair an abdominal hernia that is going to rupture and you can't make it to a hospital before I could be saved. Real Professonial NOT

my husband had a gal bladder attack and pancreatitis ....A very sever case that admitted him into Cottage Hospitol and into Dr Boudaua"s care. With the current situation with the virus I could not go into the hospital with him and felt very anxious about the whole thing! Dr. Boudaua called me many times to not only discuss his case but called at the times that she said she would call...which is rare in the difficult times.... I would highly recommend this /Dr. and can not imagine any other experience with her except a very positive one.

Went in to have the doctor verify that I had a hernia and if she could do the operation at Premier Surgery Center (where she also does surgeries) instead of Cottage (I fear that place) and she said no and I need $250 form you for this visit. Had the surgery done at Premier any way by Dr. Thoman and he honored what the insurance paid towards my office visit. Dr. Bounoua would not honored this and forced me to pay the full amount. This greedy Doctor will never see me or a family member ever again. Was it worth a 1 star rating?

This woman is a unique ethical hack

Well informed by her from the start. She's straight and to the point. Great bedside manner. Very professional, but yet compassionate.

Dr. Bounoua saved my life! I have an incredible amount of respect and gratitude for her. I ended up in the ER with a twisted intestine. It required immediate surgery. Dr. Bounoua stayed after already performing two other surgeries that day to do the surgery laparoscopically on me, knowing that it would be in my best interests. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, talented, listens well, and answers all my questions. I trust her completely!

Dr Bounoua and staff were amazing. I have not regretted my decision even once. I have lost 99 lbs in a year and couldn't be happier. Thank you so much!!! You guys are awesome

Fantastic Doctor and surgeon! Very kind and gentle - excellent bedside manner. My surgery went perfect - very little pain and a very rapid recovery. I didn't even take the pain medication.

Supper nice doctor, and person in general. Excellent surgeon.. However 4 out 5 as they never follow up with their patients after a surgery. I think this is more related to her staff.
