Excellent Physician
Dr. Seifarth has been fantastic with our little one! When she was born she had a large abdominal cyst. Dr. Seifarth was kind, caring, and thoughtful in his approach. We were still reeling from the diagnosis at birth, and he put us as ease, explaining his possible approach and listening to our fears and concerns. Unlike other doctors who force medical procedures on you, he wanted to be sure we were comfortable, and spent extra time answering our questions. In my 39 years I have not had a more positive experience with a physician, and wish all surgeons were more like him! Thanks Dr. Seifarth for seeing and hearing our concerns and working so hard to be sure we were prepared and empowered to make a decision on the next steps. Nothing is more important than the well being of our children, and I wouldn't want my daughter in any other hands!

Knowledgeable and Empathetic
I recently had a lysis of adhesions on my intestines and hernia repair done by Dr. Seifarth and his team. Not only is he extremely professional but he is also kind and explains everything well. While it was a very uncertain time for me he explained what was wrong and how he was going to fix it in an easy to understand manner. Since then the scars have healed well and I have had no complications. Thank you Dr. Seifarth!

Excellent Family-Centered Care
Dr. Seifarth has exceptional bedside manner. He takes time to fully explain and even draw out pictures of the issue and exactly how he can fix it. Dr. Seifarth went above and beyond by having his procedural team give update calls during my three year old daughter's surgical procedure. Providing me with information during the procedure helped to calm my nerves and feel more comfortable. He not only was caring for my daughter but also for me and my husband. This is true family-centered care that sets Dr. Seifarth apart from other providers.

Incredible Surgeon!
Dr. Seifarth operated on our 11 year old daughter for an Ovarian Torsion. He is such a talented surgeon and so genuine to his patients. Our daughter kept complaining of pain in her lower abdomen. When the pain became unbearable we went to the ED in our town. The next afternoon we were fast tracked to WVU Children’s. Dr. Seifarth and his team immediately started working to get to the bottom of her symptoms. By 2am she was in surgery and a few hours later Dr. Seifarth met us in the waiting room to tell us what he did and he even had before & after pictures to explain everything thoroughly. It ended up being a fairly complex surgery and we couldn’t have asked for a better surgeon to take care of our daughter. He followed up a few times after surgery and made sure we had everything we needed for a complete and successful healing. I would recommend Dr. Seifarth to anyone as well as the entire team at WVU Children’s!

Dr. Seifarth is an incredible surgeon. Our boy had an emergency surgery that required some critical decisions. We believe that he not only saved our boy's life but gave him the best possible quality of life possible. He was very clear in helping us understand what was going on with drawings and took the time to answer all questions we had. He even remembered our son's case in detail after returning from vacation. You can tell that he really cares about his patients; we'd recommend him to any and everyone.

Infant Hernia
My husband and I took our little guy up for a endocrinologist appointment at WVU to get established after bringing him home after 37 days in the NICU and only being home with him for 10 days. When we had arrived that morning we noticed some swelling in our baby's abdominal area. We asked the endocrinologist to take a peek at it and when he did he was very concerned and had some of the pediatric gastrointestinal staff look at it. They then took us immediately to the emergency room. After running some initial tests and getting hooked up to IVs Dr Seifarth came to look at our little man and access the situation. Our son ended up having a hernia in his scrotum from some pertruding bowels. With being fresh out of the hospital and new parents to a preemie this was all overwhelming for us. Dr Seifarth had wonderful bedside manner and was so kind to our baby. During our hospital stay prior to his surgery Dr Seifarth continued to check on him and fill us in on his next steps. He was such a bles

Dr. Seifarth is hands down the best! He has taken care of our little boy from birth and is still taking wonderful care of him at 3 months! He is super kind, knowledgeable, and we’re beyond grateful to have him as our baby’s surgeon! We couldn’t have hand picked anyone better, he has excellent bed side manner, he explains things so well and no question is a bad question, he draws pictures to break everything down and not skip any details so you can have a better understanding of what is going on. He has done 3 surgeries on our little guy and I couldn’t imagine having anyone else, he is literally a heaven sent!

The best hands!
Our little one was born at 25 weeks and on day 11 she needed to have surgery to remove a part of her intestine that had 3 perforations. She came out of surgery with double ostomy that would later need to be reversed. #1 was at 2 months old and #2 was at 4 months old. Dr. Seaforth was amazing. His bed side manor put us at ease during this very stressful time. He explained everything in a way that we understood and he answered every question no matter how small! He always comes to check on is and truly takes the time when he is there! I couldn't have asked for a better person to take care of my little miracle!

My Surgery Miracle – Aug 01, 2022
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Seifarth?
Our son had a duplication cyst located in the bowel that was enlarging and without intervention would cause a bowel obstruction and other issues. We were referred to Dr. Seifarth and we are so glad that he was our son’s surgeon. He has a pleasant demeanor, with a compassionate bedside manner. He helped us walk through the diagnosis and what surgery entailed. He and his team were so caring and thoughtful; they called us at different stages during his surgery to update us, which helped soothe our nerves. His surgery was a little more complex involving his appendix and an obstruction that had started in the small intestine. This made the surgery take extra time but Dr. Seifarth was not phased by it at all. He explained everything to us so well. We were confident in his care. Post-Op Dr. Seifarth and his team were available for questions and were prompt with returning calls. He and his team really made the whole process the best that it could be. We are so grateful!

Our young daughter had appendicitis that ruptured and needed surgery as well as a hospital stay for a few days afterwards. Dr. Seifarth performed her surgery using the tiniest single incision around her bellybutton so that she has almost no scar! He saw her every single day in the hospital, often twice a day, to update us on her plan of care and to let us know how she was doing. We wouldn't choose to ever go through this again, but if we had to we would always hope Dr. Seifarth was available for it!

Dr. Seifarth is one of the kindest, most knowledgeable, down to earth surgeons I have ever met! He performed a very long and tedious surgery on our daughter who developed a colon cancer extremely rare for someone her age. Because of Dr. Seifarth, and the time he took to diligently gather a large, skilled surgical team, our daughter has a new lease on life! He was always compassionate and took his time to speak with us at length about any questions we asked, putting our fears at ease. Our daughter loved him and was very comfortable with the multiple procedures/surgeries he performed on her. He is the reason she did not fear having surgery. I would not hesitate to allow him to perform any future surgeries on our daughter.

My 3 year old son was treated at Montana Children’s for an emergency appendectomy this past summer of 2020. We could not have been happier with the care we received from his surgeon, Dr Seifarth, and all the nurses and staff at the hospital. Dr. Seifarth was not only a very skilled surgeon but he showed such compassion and care for my son through this scary experience and made him laugh through it all. No parent wants to be in a situation where their child needs emergency care, but it made me so grateful for the skilled and caring doctors and nurses who do amazing things for our kids everyday. We can’t thank you all enough! Also, the facility is amazing, brand new, so many great amenities and touches to make your child feel safe and comfortable. Thank you Montnana Childrens and Dr. Seifarth!

My son had a freak accident and cut his face on the playground. I was so worried he would go forward in life with a big scar on his face. Once in the ER Dr. Seifarth calmed me down and assured me there wouldn't even be a noticeable mark. My son is seven months healed from the accident and you can't even see where the cut was. Dr. Seifarth is a gifted surgeon, but more importantly a great person. I was so impressed with his bed side manner and compassion. He cared for my son just like it was his own child. FYI - I learned he was one of America's Most Beautiful Doctors in 2013, featured on The Doctors TV Show! Beautiful inside and out he is!

Dr. Seifarth went above and beyond for our daughters surgery. We couldn't be more happy with him and his team before, during and after the surgery. He checked in on her everyday post surgery that we were in the hospital, even on his days off. He even followed up with text messages once we got home to ensure she was doing well. He explains things thoroughly and in layman's terms as well as draws accurate representations so you can visualize the procedure. He is truly one of a kind and I would travel across the country if I had to in order for him to be the Dr for any of my kids!

Both of our teenage boys developed pectus carinatum during their rapid growth spurts. Living in Montana, we figured we would have to travel out of state to consult about surgery versus bracing. Our pediatrician referred us to Dr. Siefarth in Kalispell, MT and we immediately knew how lucky we were upon meeting him. He is incredibly knowledgeable about chest wall deformities and presented us with options. He began by gaining our trust by explaining the entire outline of how the brace works and relayed his experiences with successful outcomes. Dr. Siefarth was very honest about the emotional and physical impacts wearing the brace can have. Through the process, he and his outstanding staff have always been available to answer any questions while following up on concerns with exceptional recommendations. We highly recommend him and are so pleased with the results.

From a 10-year-old patient: The surgery was good and I didn’t feel anything! Dr. Seifarth was so nice and he let me eat anything I wanted after the surgery. It was the best...pudding, popsicles, applesauce and even pie! Surgery isn’t so scary if you have a good doctor. They all did a good job and I feel a lot better.
