Dr. Felix Vergara, MD

It’s taken me more than a year to write this but I will because no one else should have to deal with an excuse of a doctor like Felix Vergara. He was the OBGYN on duty who delivered my first child at Christiana Hospital. Negative bedside manner. The OBGYN is supposed to guide the patient as she is giving birth and ensure there are no complications if possible and injury to the patient is minimal. He did no such thing - barked at her and the nurses like a sergeant. Fleeted in and out of the room and barely gave my wife a glance even as she was reeling in pain. We only found out much later that my wife had ended up with 3rd degree laceration that would have not happened if there was less negligence on Felix Vergara’s part. I don’t care if it was a rogue incident or if there were a lot of other patients that day - this is a woman in labor we are talking about! My wife literally said that if she ever bumps into him while we are warded, delivering our second child, she will HOLD IT IN and leave the hospital. An exaggeration of course but you get the point. Never again. Dr Vergara I hope you read this and get your act together for your other patients’ sake.

My pain along with other issues I was having were brushed off by Dr. Vergara. I was told it was most likely back pain. I went to the er in pain and they claimed they found a cyst & fibroids, so they did an ultrasound. Dr. Vergara receive a report in October 2020 stating I may have adenomyosis. I was again brushed off and told 'it is too rare to have'. I got brushed off by another obgyn at Christiana Care. I recently moved to North Carolina. (Almost 4 years in pain now as well as going thro a miscarriage.) First thing I did was make an appointment at Duke Hospital with an obgyn. IN ONE DAY after so much pain and suffering I went through testing and I DO HAVE adenomyosis. I was also given something for my pain as well as a plan on how to move forward. Women are being brushed off and suffering and it is not okay.

Dr Vergara was the only doctor that could see me within a week after coming out of the ER for a multitude of new issues that sprung up out of no where. Being a woman in her early 20’s, I was so nervous that I would never be able to find an appt within a month! I’m so glad his office was able to squeeze me in the day after I called! In terms of my appt, I had never seen an OBGYN and had previously received care from women’s health at a university. He was incredibly knowledgeable and patient while I told him my story and asked questions. I didn’t feel rushed and he spent a lot of time with me. I felt very informed and confident with making decisions about my body with his guidance. I was nervous about seeing a male doctor but he was very professional and I felt comfortable the whole time. I will definitely be seeing him for the foreseeable future. And I would recommend anyone in need of an OBGYN to see Dr Vergara!

Dr. Vergara has been my OBGYN for many years!! He actually moved in the office where my prev. Dr. was located!! I actually wish he'd been my Dr. from the beginning!! He's an AWESOME Dr. that takes the time to ask & answer any questions you my have!! He also has a GREAT bedside manner, n thts hard to find in a Dr. these days!!

Dr. Vergara is very thorough in his approach to treatment options, gentle and quick during pap exams, professional and adheres to HIPAA, great listener and polite, and he exudes great confidence in his ability to provide care.

Dr. Vergara is absolutely amazing! He has such good bedside manner and never made me feel pressured to do anything that wasn't in my plan. They were available whenever I needed them or had a worry. I highly recommend him and his amazing staff!!

Dr. Vergara is skilled in his field. I would trust him with my life. He performed my 3rd c section with no problems. He is available whenever you call him. He has a very busy practice, for good reason...he is the best!

The best doctor I have ever had. He is supportive and tentative. I had an issue with a hospital making an error on my medical records and when he was told about it he went above and beyond, in my opinion, to have the error corrected. I recommend him to everyone that has ever asked for a recommendation on a OBGYN doctor.

He is absolutely wonderful. He makes sure you are comfortable within the appointment. During pregnancy/delivery you will NOT find a more tentative and caring doctor. If he doesnt know the answer he will find it. I unknowingly suffered for years(not telling him bcz i didnt think it was a gyn issue) with a chronic bladder condition. Once i told him the problem he referred me to a specialist who HE knew, trusted. Had he not done that lord only knows where my health would be today!The best obgyn!
