Forever grateful for Dr. Kafie
We met Dr. Kafie when my daughter-in-law was diagnosed with a life-threatening ascending aortic aneurysm. From the moment Dr. Kafie took over her care we felt confident and reassured by his professionalism and ability to explain a complex procedure in a manner we could understand. He took time to draw a diagram of the anatomy of her heart showing the position and size of the aneurysm. It was huge and very frightening to know it could have ruptured at any time. We can never express how thankful we are for the calm and expertise Dr. Kafie brought to the situation, and for the way he treated our entire family. Dr. Kafie is truly an extraordinary, dedicated, and compassionate vascular surgeon to whom we will be forever grateful.

Dr Kafie delivers care the way a health care professional should. He is Kind, caring and compassionate. Remarkable bedside manner that is very hard to find any more in healthcare. You really feel “valued as a person patient when he treats you. I’m pretty sure he saved my life by preventing a major stroke as the result of my carotid artery disease and arteriosclerosis. He explained my radiology scans in a way that I could understand, listened and then answered mmy questions. My surgery was very complicated and difficult, but Dr Kafie fixed me. I had to go to the ICU after surgery and Dr Kafie and his team checked on me frequently and communicated with the ICU nursing staff a lot to make sure I was being taken care of and improving. I didn’t feel like a number, again I felt valued, and that is hard to find. Dr Kafie is wa

Dr. Kafie has such a nice, caring and friendly personality. He explains the procedures and answers all questions and concerns completely, which makes it is less stressful for the family when all this is understood. His team is top- notch especially Chelsea his PA who was very approachable and friendly with all interactions. I would highly recommend Dr Kafie without even one reservation!

Great care!!!!
My 96-year-old grandfather had an aortic aneurysm, rupture in the emergency room. It was a difficult case, and Dr. Kafie took it on even with everything stacked against my grandfather. He made it through surgery and recovery and is at home doing great. Dr. Kafie has had great follow-up communication with us, and my grandfather would not be here without him and his team. Thanks.

See Review below
I had an appt for an ultrasound of my leg back in July, was told it would be @ 3-4 weeks to submit to insurance(which is PPO BC/BS) to find out if they would cover a procedure.By the time Sept came around, never heard a word so I called and they said the insurance company requested more info in the report which they forwarded.I was told could take another 30-60 days.End of Nov. came around, heard nothing.I called again and they said office expedited request for info about coverage on Oct.24th,they would get back to me,this was end of November now.I decided to call my insurance company and they said,'that procedure was denied back on Oct.25th'.Not sure why so they gave me a reference number for EQ something or other to let me know why.Called them and they said veins had to be so many mL to be covered by insurance which is BC/BS.I called Dr.Kafie's office back and they said insurance never let them know.I wanted to know cost out of pocket, they transferred to that person 1wk ago, heard zip.

Mine was an emergency surgery. Dr Kafie was great ! I just had my follow up appointment. He answered all questions and what impressed me most was that he wasn’t trying to rush out the door. He took care of all my needs. I can tell he’s not only a great physician but just a good guy as well. I was truly lucky that he was there during my emergency.

Do not recommend.
Do not go. He missed a serious diagnosis. I now have stent lying across my aorta. Before surgery I was very sick. I ask can I put it off until better. They say no- he wouldn’t say do it now if it could wait. Night before surgery I pass out-call Dr. Kafie-he says-need to do it. So I go. He puts stent in Celiac artery. Post op-awful chest pain…did CT. He said stent is fine (but its not). Sent home in pain. Get records. His op report says all my arteries are clear. So WHY did you put a stent in at all! Find out have Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome-MALS. The MAL is pinching my Celiac artery. Was told he doesn’t do MALS. Another surgeon will do it. The surgeon who will release the ligament says its never done this way. If patient has MALS you release the ligament & free the Celiac artery to restore blood flow...a stent is not needed. He had never heard of it being done with stent already in Celiac. Now I have multiple thrombus in my hepatic, splenic & celiac arteries due to the stent.

The Best!
I met Dr. Kafie last Fall. He has performed three different procedures on me since that time. An angiogram on my right leg, an endarterectomy on my left carotid, and a couple of weeks ago, an EVAR (stent graft) and aortic aneurysm repair. Needless to say, this man has recently become very important in my life. He is pleasant, thoughtful and courteous; but most of all, he is a professional who excels at his specialty...vascular surgery. Hopefully, I can limit his beautiful work to the three I mentioned above. I call him the "Surgeon with the Golden Hands"! I would only consider him for these type of procedures. In my opinion, he is The Best!

Kind, Professional, Compassionate, Caring!
I have suffered for over 50 years with varicose veins in my legs… ever since High School! I finally decided it was time to resolve my medical issue. What a phenomenal choice I made to engage Dr. Kafie. He did a brief exploratory procedure and before I came out of recovery he TEXTED me and gave me the two dates that he could fix my vascular issues. I was under a crunch because of expiring insurance. Yes, Dr. Kafie texted me directly to schedule and to put my mind at ease that he would cure my issue. Office staff is second to none! Thank you to everyone that was involved. God bless you and your entire TEAM!

Dr. Kaffe is fantastic! Have gone thru 4 previous procedures, by other doctors, in Nebraska and always ended up in hospital. Dr. Kaffe inserted 4 stints and I went home same day. Very caring and personable. Would trust him with my life. You can't go wrong.

My husband had an IVC filter removed by Dr. Kaffie. It had been in for quite some time, so we were both beyond anxious at what could happen. Dr. Kaffie showed extreme compassion, and listened to all our concerns and didn't rush us out of his office. He really cares for his patients, and I think that he treats all of his surgeries as though he were operating on his own family. I would certainly recommend Dr. Kaffie to anyone needing heart surgery, especially if it is complex. He is very good at it.
